Bedale is our local market town and I wouldn't be without the place. Absolutely stunning. Market day is Tuesday, although it's a small affair with a fish van, fruit and veg stall and then the nik-nak stalls.
There are 2 fabulous butchers (and I stress the fabulous) one specialising in game which does the most amazing sausages - if you're in the area get some - you won't regret it!
The house and home store is good containing all sorts from cookery utensils to some gorgeous ornaments to paint to gardening.. the list is endless. There are 2 car parks along with parking in the high street (all is free but you need a disk for the high street - free from shops)
There is a gorgeous little park / football field at the end of the high street by the town hall which my daughter adores.
Oh and if your in town around bonfire night - the firwork display is the best I have seen for along time!

i have only ever been 2 bedale a couple of items but everytime enjoyed it whilst i was there. Bedale can get a little bust especially when the market is on they have a regular market every tuesday which you can get a wide ange of items from. The museum is really good, there is plenty of architecture and lots of beautiful scenery. The localas were all lovely and made conversation whilst waiting in queue''''s ect. I think bedale is ideal for not only day trips but weekend breaks aswell its really nice,

Bedale is a busy market town located near the yorkshire dales. It is an ideal town for holidays, walking and weekend breaks. There are a wide range of shops in the centre of the town, and there is a regular market on a tuesday, where you can buy all sorts of useful items and products at cheap prices. As well as having a range of shops, Bedale also has a beuatiful museum, and much interesting architecture to glare at throughout the town. I personally enjoy walking through the yorkshire dales, especially when the weather is fine, as the views are amazing.
