Harrogate is the original spa town of the north and there is still a Spa there where you can be pampered for the day. There are all your usual High Street shops and a modern shopping centre, also some more upmarket shops. A visit to Bettys coffee shop is a must - rather expensive and nearly always a queue, but you can''t go to Harrogate without calling in at Betty''s. If you are looking for a restaurant there are numerous very good restaurants - tapas, Italian and seafood. There are plenty of pubs aswell - the Wetherspoons is quite spectacular in an old spa and there is a grand staircase down to the bar. There are lots of gardens to visit which are particularly beautiful in the summer when they are in full bloom. There are loads of places to stay ranging from the Travelodge to really luxurious hotels. There are plenty of day trips from Harrogate to The Yorkshire Dales and nearby Leeds. Definetly something for everyone and well worth a visit.

I love Harrogate, especially in the summertime. It''s such a beautiful place that is full of life and things to do. The Stray in the centre of the town is very pleasant, with plenty of space for walks and picnics and gives the town a very relaxed atmosphere which can be seen through its busy streets. Full of trees and benches to sit on The Stray provides a unique break from the busy town life. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat between shopping sprees. Bettyys tea room is the most famous of the cafes and is visited by hundreds and hundreds of people every year. There are also loads of shops, from high street stores to boutiques and more, so there''s something for everyone and plenty to keep you occupied for the day. Even if you don''t buy anything it''s great for window shopping with quirky little gift shops, all of which are set in stunningly built streets with old Victorian buildings, it''s like something out of a film.

Overall, Harrogate is a wonderful town surrounded by picturesque countryside and striking buildings. If youuve never been I would thoroughly recommend visiting it, even if its just for a day.

Harrogate is a fabulous place but a bit on the posh side. The nightlife in harrogate is getiing a lot better than it used to be .The area has some beauty to it which means the housing prices have really rocketed over the years. The area do''s have a very nice atmosphere and there is plenty of places to sit and relax. There is a great selection of shops but they are very expensive.I would definatley recommend visiting the harlow carr gardens as it is a beautiful place to have a nice stroll around. The people in there area are very friendly and polite and its very easy to make some new friends as they do tend to stop and have a good chat.Harrogate do''s have an 18 hole golf course which is very popular but it also has a mini course aswell.Valley gardens is a nice place to go with the children, its has a lovely play area and a nice ice cream parlour. It is a nice clean area you don''t see much litter about. The area is more for the older generation as there is not much to entertain the children. If you do decide to visit Harrogate then make sure you have plenty of money as it is a very expensive place.

I have visited Harrogate many times and i am always impressed with how clean it is. Harrogate is a pleasant spa town to the south-east of the Yorkshire Dales, its famous for its tea shops, flower shows, turkish baths, antique shops, and the Harrogate International Conference Centre. The town is also famous for its associations with the great English crime novelist Agatha Christie, who "disappeared" here for a few days in the 1930s. The people here all seem very friendly and they always seem to have smiles on there faces. If you are visiting Harrogate or you do live here then you should visit nearby attractions such as Harewood House, Plumpton Rocks, Knaresborough, Ripley castle and so much more. Ohh and of course the beautiful Yorkshire Dales nation park itself. I have heard many good things about the night life here in Harrogate so i do plan to visit here on a night but as its far from where i live i wouldnt be able to afford the taxi fare so i would be staying over in one of the nice hotels. Harrogate isnt the cheapest of places so do bring quite a bit of money with you. You will not be disappointed when visiting Harrogate, you will love it.

harrogate is a very nice town located in north yorkshire, a great place to visit, id say its more for than the older generation than the younger as theres not enough entertainment for the lil ones, apart from the lovely parks. i never went shopping in harrogate so cant comment on the shopping side , never went out at night so cant comment on teh nghtlife ,. although my friends say its a wicked area for nightlife.. but there a lil on the posh side so not sure if my nightlife and there nighlitfe would be the same lol. very quiet place, well mannederd polite peple.,took my lil one to the local parks and they were the best parks iv seen lol. in nottinghsm we have parks full of grifiti and broken swingw ect, this was so clean and there was no gangs hanging aroudn the parks. (unlike nittingham )

Harrogate to most of us that live in Yorkshire is the posh capital of the north. Tourists flock to Harrogate, there are lots to see and do. Harrogate has been put in the spotlight through the many TV programs that use it for location shoots. I think the nightlife has become a lot more popular over recent years. The atmosphere is so lively now to what it was we that is my sisters and I often go to Harrogate as opposed to Leeds it makes a refreshing change. It is handy for us, as we only live a short distances away, the locals are so friendly and welcoming. Shopping here in Harrogate seems very expensive, as does the cost of a night out.
Numerous parks and gardens to visit that all have theyyre own statements to enhance the need for you to go back. Harrogate always seems to be mentioned when votes are counted in best and well kept city competition.

Harrogate is the pricier, posher part of yorkshire. Large 3 story victorian terraces line the main streets which are finised with impecable taste. The area has many pubs and clubs for a good night out. You rarely find any trouble on a night out in harrogate but the establishments are geared towards the more mature client. The crime rate in harrogate is fairly low and funding is supposed to be in place for an asda wallmart in the near future. HArrogate is also home to their football team who play in the Unibond league. The team records a fan base of approx 400 at home games which for its standard is very good!

Harrogare is one of the nicest towns all over england. It was voted as the third best city to live in 2005 (on the channel 4) and voted fourth in the same league on 2006.
The most amazing thing about it is alot of parks, green and gardens. The main park in the town is called Valley Gardens, which is located in Low Harrogate. Valley Gardens has a number of attractions including the Ice Cream Parlour and Children''s Play Area with Outdoor Paddling Pool(very very nice!) .Crescent Gardens is a small open area in Central Harrogate. It is surrounded by some of the towns main tourist attractions including the Royal Pump Room, Royal Baths and Royal Hall, as well as the Town Hall. Hall M of the Harrogate International Centre also fronts onto Crescent Gardens.
Transport is very easy as there are four railway stations and good links to for example Leeds and York. You can enjoy visiting many historical places and the place is well known for its attraction of toursists aswell as English people who just want to go out for a day.

Harrogate is one the nicest towns i''ve ever been too, has all the stuff you need in a town and is in a good location between York and Leeds. I''ve seen Harrogate on T.V lots of times before being voted the nicest place to live in England and I couldn''t see why. I used to come visit my grandparents in Harrogate and also enjoyed going on the strays for walks and they sometimes have carnivals there, which are really great fun. The shopping is very good too, there is a wide range of shops and big supermarkets. The park there is really nice aswell which also has a 18 hole golf course, crazy golf course and tennis courts. In general Harrogate is a great place to live because of the things and places to go in or outside Harrogate. For example one of my favourite places to go just outside Harrogate is Brimham Rocks where I used to go as a child, I spent hours climbing on the rocks and then went to the caves where I would go far underground and would just be such a great experience. Also the country moors of Yorkshire and definitely a must because of their natural beauty.
