Richmond is a small town in the heart of North Yorkshire not far from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. It is, well worth a trip there because it really is very pretty. It is easily accessible off the A1.
The town itself is very quaint with some household name stores - Woolworths, a small Boots and a Yorkshire Trading but there are also a load of other little local shops. The butchers sell some great sausages.
A walk by the River is a must, which you access by climbing down the hill from the town. There is a little park which also leads towards the Leisure Centre at the bottom of the hill. Also worth a look is the Castle.
There is a big Co-op supermarket and I can definetly recommend the Wetherspoons pub here. Well worth a visit.

Visitors from all over the world come to Richmond upon Thames to explore and discover its many attractions, parks and gardens or to just wander along the River Thames. The area is best known for the fantastic views, parks and the River Thames.
Richmond upon Thames has something for everyone, Whether you like history, wildlife,Special events or any kind of night life style Richmond has it all.
London''s rural Thames stretches from Hampton Court Palace to Chelsea Harbour.I myself have enjoyed many walks along the River Thames when ever I have visited Richmond, some of the sites here are amazing, even if the weather isnt great.
There are several sport and fitness centres and pools in Richmond upon Thames, which offer both adult and junior programmes.
The borough is a great place to walk and the best way to learn about its history is through the eyes of an experienced local guide, there are many daily guided tours in Ricmond from Thursday - saturday covering general and specialist themes.
Richmond itself has a great variety of restaurants, wine bars and cafes, allowing you to relax by the river or on Richmond Green Londonns largest town centre open space.
Richmond also has some great shops which are a little posher then some and sp are a little more expensive then other areas but aside from that staff are all very helpfull and I do enjoy shopping here from time to time.

Surrounded by history and on the outskirts of London, Richmond is a very popular commuter town and a place that simply has to be seen.
Not the best place for shopping although there is a wide variety of shops, including a beautiful department store, Dickin''s and Jones, Richmond is a Hillside town surrounded by historic buildings and the central part of one of London''s Royal Boroughs. Some key places to visit include Richmond Park and Richmond Village at the top of the hill. There are some amazing views overlooking central London from Richmond Park. Also make a point of visiting Terrace Gardens with a breathtaking view over the River Thames and out towards Twickenham, Windsor and Heathrow airport. There are some telescopes in the park but do take a camera as well. On a clear day, Windsor Castle is easily viewable alongside Heathrown airport. Twickenham Rugby Stadium is an unmistakeable structure that also gets the heart beating.
Richmond used to be home to one of the Royal Palaces and the park was where many monarchs used to hunt deer. A large variety of wildlife live in it ranging from deer to Owls. The largest of the Royal Parks, it is a must see.

Richmond is a brilliant outskirt to London. It has lots of big parks where there are great facilities to play rugby and football or just to go for a run and enjoy the scenery. You will often or not see lots of teams practising on thses fields because it is so spacious. Down the road is Twickenham where England play rugby so from time to time it can get quite busy, however it is normally easy to get in and out of because of the wide roads which ease congestion. I use Richmond as my park and ride spot to get into London itself. There is a good parking facility on the main road into Richmond near to the train station where ypu can get a day ticket and lock and leave your car there safe for the day.

Richmond is a very plush and lush town on the outskirts of London. It has everything that you could want when looking for a town and attracts both young and old. Shopping is good but not excellend and it has a good variety of shops for all ages. There are also a number of great restaurants. Special mention has to go to Richmond Green which is always jam packed in the Summer-a great place to hang out in the sun and have a picnic. The Richmond Theatre is also fabulous and every year we go to the panto here as it is one of the best theatres in the area. Houses are lovely here, even though they are pricey but you are able to get both town houses and ones a bit more out of it. Very easy to get into central London by bus, tube or train.
