Even though i have only visted Tadcaster a handful of times to see family i really like this place, it has so much to do and so much to see. Tadcaster lies on the River Wharfe between Leeds and York, so it has great road links to come here and also reliable train services. Originally Tadcaster was named Calcaria (place of limestone) by the Romans, i thought this was a very interesting fact. Another interesting fact is that Tadcaster water is drunk throughout the world as it is used in some famous beers, 3 of which are sited here in Tadcaster. On a day out we visited the North yorkshire countryside which Tadcaster is surrounded by, it is great for walks and it has some lovely views.
There is also a market for you to visit, you can always find a good bargain. It does have many shops and cafes if you are wanting a day of retail therapy.
