I dont live in Northampton but i do travel here for shopping quite often, either by train or by car. The train station is quite basic for such a large place but it is clean and well run so really all that matters. The station is close to the town put does involve a good walk, but its straight so no need for directions or anything. The shops start on the road in to the centre and offer a mxture of good shops and a fewplaces to eat. The main square in the town is home to a market. Its really big and well set out offering a varied range of unique products. has a nice feeling about it too. The square is moreshops, pubs and the entrances to the shopping centre. The shopping centre offers all the big high street stores,is clean, not too busy and well set out. If you come out the other side it leads to more shops including a branch of Asdas George.
It is also a great night out with plenty of places to eat, drink and also a cinema close to the centre.
There is plenty of places to park as well and very easy to find. I have never done any of the cultural things Northampton offers but from reading other reviews i think i will.

The Derngate and Royal theatres are located in Guildhall Road, opposite Northampton Museum and Art Gallery. They were renovated and reopened in 2006. The Deco is a 900-seat theatre/conference centre based on the Grade-II listed former Cannon Cinema, in Abington Square used mainly by the voluntary and charitable sector. The Deco was restored by the Jesus Army as part of their Jesus Centre project.
The Deco and the Northampton Jesus Centre share a Grade II listed Art Deco building, formerly the Cannon cinema
Northampton MarketNorthampton Museum and Art Gallery has a world-class collection of historical footwear, and also Italian art, glass and ceramics, plus visiting exhibitions and local history. There is also a smaller historical museum in a former mansion within Abington Park.
The old Fishmarket, opposite the market square, has been renovated by the NAC (Northampton Arts Collective). As The Fishmarket Gallery it now has three art gallery spaces, retail units, a cafe, and an arts studio. Since it re-opened it has played host to exhibitions by nationally recognised artists and stages live music, community events and workshops.
There are a lot of historic places to visit in Northampton. All Saints Church, The Guildhall and the Express Lift Tower is a dominant feature in the area.
One of Englandds largest and most impressive historic market squares can be found in Northampton. Top high street names and modern outlets will more than fulfil all your shopping needs...and mine :)

Northampton is a quality place to live, visit and for a good night out. I lived in three locations in Northampton and found it easy to get around. The bus services were plentiful and very efficient. In addition to town, you can also shop, eat and drink in another 4 (town, Wellingbrough Road, Riverside and Weston Favell) prime locations. There are two cinemas with plenty of parking and places to eat all around them.
Just down the street from the Millies cookies mall exit, is an Italian place to eat. You go down stairs and the atmosphere is fantastic. The food is very good there too. There are a couple of American type diners too. The food is better than TGI''''s even if it is a little bit cramped.
As for the shopping, there are two Next stores here. One in town and the other at the Riverside. There are all sorts of other places, including Sefridges, Bay and others to shop at too. All you need is here. If not, jump on a train and go to Milton Keynes. There you will find everything that is missing in Northampton.
The night life is good and very busy. It has something for everyone here. When the students are in, the place is packed! It really does have something for everyone. If you want to chill, you can do it. If you want to dance, you can do plenty of that too.
Norhthampton is proud of its'''' rugby. Although not as good as they have been in the past, it still remains a main feature of town. It wasn''''t long ago that the team featured many of the England players that provided English Rugby with great success.
Northampton is very, very well connected for people that travel. The train station is 4 to 5 minute walk away from the main town. The bus station is part of the town and is one of the best connected bus hubs I''''ve seen in England. By car, you can go in all directions from here and be well on your way to anywhere in Britain.

I like Northampton as a town due to its large shopping area. They have a really good range of shops including a large Primark and H & M which we do not have in my home town. They have a reasonably large indoor shopping centre too which houses a large number and variety of shops too. They also have a large market. Northampton is easy to get to by Car, Train or Bus which makes it a good town to use for shopping. They also have a really good selection of pubs, restaurants and clubs including Chicagos which is a really good night out. Northampton also has 2 theatres, cinemas and an art gallery for those looking for some culture. A good all round place.

Northampton is a good place to live and a great place to visit. The best Visit there is Northampton Cathederal ''Cathedral of our lady and St. Thomas'' It is a beautiful building. They have a choir which is a must if you are visiting. My parents were married there and I was christened there many years ago. I lived in Northampton for 27 years. Every year in August is the balloon festival, which lasts all weekend. People come from all over to see the hot air balloons in the sky. There are lots of different sizes and shapes of balloons to see. My favourite in the Thomas The Tank balloon. Silverstone is a few miles away and thats a great place for a day out. Also there is Althorpe House were Diana lived and is buried. You can''t go in the house everyday. But they do have events on so check the website before you go to see what is on. In the town centre there is the shoe museum with lots of different shoes from lots of different times in history. Northampton is called ''cobbles'' because we make shoes. Our football team is called ''the cobbers'' also. If you want to see the football you can go to sixfield and sit on the hill and see the whole game for free.

Northampton has a few good points . The shopping part of Northampton is great with a big primark, H&m''s large woolworths and also a good market, However this is some bad things about northampton and it has a rather bad reputation due to the media , There are some great night clubs and chicargo''s is a good night out , However it gets so busy and sometimes no entry and no room to move, There is a good bus service to and from northampton to most parts of the uk, The train station is a good location and there is also a few retail parks with good shops.
