Rushden is the largest town in Northamptonshire. They have a football team called Rushden and Diamonds who have a couple of times played Manchester United!! It has the A6 that runs through the town and the A45 on the north side of the town. So it is easily accessible from all areas. The main attractions to Rushden are Rushden Hall which used to belong to the RNIB, this has been recently turned into a very posh hotel and spa place. We have had very famous weddings this venue including Matt from Busted. Rushden
Whilst archaeological evidence of settlements in the Rushden area goes back to the Iron Age and Roman periods, the origins of the town probably date back to the Saxons, who had a place of worship here. The Normans called the place 'Risdene' and built a church. The present church dates from the 13th Century. Rushden Hall has its origins in the 14th Century, but is mostly of a later date. They have a lovely pub called the Ock and Dough which has a wacky warehouse for the kids, so the kids can play while the adults have a drink and order the food. They also have a lot of special offers on at the minute in the restaurant like 2 for £10 which includes more or less all of the menu!!
