Hexham is a very clean and welcoming town, consisting of shops, historic buildings and lots more! Hexham Abbey is a lovely place to visit and the gardens/parks surrounding it are beautiful. Hexham park has alot of different plants and bushes and has a bowling green. It is a really nice place to sit and watch the world go by. Hexham park holds a great bonfire night celebration and many other events which are worth the visit. Hexham also has a cinema, theatre and museum in hexham which are all nice places to visit.
Hexham is close to hadrians wall some lovely small little villages each with their own characteristics.
I would say my favorite place in Hexham itself is Hexham Tyne Green country park, it is a lovely walk by the river tyne and is very relaxing. It has a children''s play area, bbq and picnic area, golf course and a football pitch. There is a car boot sale nearby at a weekend. There are many water sport activities which take place on the river too. There is a lovely ice cream van parks there too where they sell gorgeous ''real'' iced cream and is really good value for money!
