Morpeth is a market town which at present is undergoing major refurbishment to the shopping centre and as such alot of the shops are either closed or difficult to get to. The people in morpeth are mainly either pensioners or young families and the housing varies. Morpeth is split into a number of area''s and each area has its own schools etc. Most of the schools in morpeth are considered to be desirable and morpeth itself is considered to be a desirable area to live and this is reflected in the house prices. Morpeth has recently been in the news as most of it ended up under water when the river broke its banks. Unfortunatley the way morpeth is built the majority of houses flooded.

The people in morpeth can at times be extremely unfriendly and very unlike their neighbours in newcastle, they tend to be quite snobby but this might just be the ones I met!! Gebards the butchers is well worth a visit as they make some lovely sausages of many varieties would definately recommend the wild boar or pork and apple. The gardens are really nice during the summer and well worth a look around on a good day, especially good to have photo''s taken there.
