Tynemouth is about a fifteen miniute walk from Whitley bay along the coast and it is about a five miniute drive if that from whitley bay. It is eay to get to from newcastle all you have to do is get the metro which costs about £ 3 and it takes about 20 miniutes to get there.
It is a small town area where there are a few shops and only a few pubs.
It is a well respected area and it attracts alot of visitors in the summer also you get the odd few visitors in the winter too.
There is a small castle on the seafront which gets alot of visitors and i think that there is still an admission fee to be paid. I have only visited tynemouth a few times when i have been to whitley bay but it is such a lovley small town. Which is well presented and has flowers spread about the town.
It has a really really clean beach and it has won awards in the past for being one of the cleanest beaches. It also attracts alot of surfers in the summer and in the winter too.
There is a few icecrean shops and also a few fish and chip shops which are the best around and are cheap to buy.
All the people who live here seam really friendly and polite and if you get a bit lost which is hard to do they are really helpfull and they are happy to help.
Thyere is a few gift shops to buy all your suvineers to take home for family but i would recomend that you bring your family here for the day.

Tynemouth is a great seaside town located only 20minutes outside the city centre by the metro. Located by the sea, the town attracts many of people from all over to enjoy a great day out. In the summer months especially the beach is packed full of families and couples and students all enjoying themselves, eating the traditional fish and chips from the shop which is a 5 minute walk from the beach or the Mr Whippy icecream from the van. The town also provides lots of water activities which is very popular especially with the children. There is plenty of parking all along the coast and in the main town. The town is full of seaside shops and pubs and cafes to chose from, all which cater for everyones needs and all reasonably priced. Right next to the beach is a castle ruins where people can go and look around and being situated ontop of a hill, the younger children seem to find more amusement rolling endlessly down the hill and racing back to the top!

Tynemouth is a lovely place to visit it has many little beaches all of which are very clean. My favourite of them is the long sands the long golden beach is a wonderful place to sit and watch the kids build sandcastles and plodge in the sea. Taking a walk along the sea front and perhaps stop for a bite to eat there are some lovely places

There is a little boating lake where you can feed the ducks and swans that are usually there. If you feel particularly brave you can hire a pedalo to go around the pond on although it is not very big and there is a park with a prehistoric crazy golf course which is good fun.

On a weekend there is a market in Tynemouth station selling anything from books and clothes to kitchens and large pieces of furniture. You can get the metro here from all over tyne and wear and you wouldnnt even have to leave the station. People have stalls selling tea and coffee and burgers. There is usually a lovely fresh bread stall too

Visit the priory and look at the magnificent remains of our history and a short walk will take you down to Collingwoodds statue too

The night life in Tynemouth is good there are quite a few different pubs that offer different atmospheres some quiet and others more lively

Tynemouth is a lovely place to visit and a sought after place to live. Its about 20mins away from newcastle city centre by metro. At tynemouth metrostation they have a market on a sunday , its great, ive been many of times, its not a place to take a pushcair though as it gets really busy and you cant move, this market has over 30stalls with various bargains for sale ie baby clothes toys and bric a brac, you never fail to get a bargain from here.

Theres also tynemouth beach, its lovely here and huge with golden sands, the sell of sea air is great too. This geta really packed out when its warm so if you want to get a good spott lie on , on the beach its best to get there early. They have a range of fish and chip shops which are all great and reasonably priced at around 4.50 for fish and chips.

They have a lot of great pubs and cafes here on the way to the beach theres a street full of them and theres something to suit everyone , they also accept children too.
Tynemouth has its on huge metro station with links direct to newcastle city centre, these metro come very frquent, abotu every ten minuites and run from 6am till 12 midnight.

Tyne mouth is home to the famous blue reef aquaruim, i love it here, theres various underwater animals too see from sharks to crabs, it amazing to walk around and see that they are only a peice of glass away from you, walking under there underwater tunnel and seeing the sharks swim around you is amazing. this is open from ten am and the charge for entry is Adult 6.95, Child 4.95, . over all i think tynemouth is a great place to visit and ill definatlyybe returning.

My flatmates and I took a trip to Tynemouth at the end of last year before we all moved out and it was great! When we left Heaton the sun was splitting the trees and it was so warm, and about 10 minutes down the road the clouds came and mist fell! Mist fell, in summer!! But despite the weather we headed on, parked the car at the top of the beach and walked down the millions of steps to the sand.

Tynemouth is a gorgeous beach and very unspoiled, and it''s always packed with people, young and old! Lots of dog walkers and surfers, or people enjoying BBQs and families with kids. I only took a paddle in the sea (some were brave enough to go all in, I wasn''t too keen!) and I can tell you - it was freezing!!

Apart from the beach there''s lots more to do at Tynemouth - an aquarium, crazy golf, a few shops to buy some souvenirs, cafes, restaurants, fish and chip shops (a must-do!), and some bars. Tynemouth is a great wee seaside town. I''ve also been to Whitley Bay, but I much prefer Tynemouth as there is much more to do here, and the beach and the seafront seems much cleaner.

Tynemouth is only a 20 minute drive away from the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, and is also accessed by Metro or by bus, each for a small fare.

When someone once told me that there were beautiful beaches in Newcastle, I didn''t believe them but I was well and truly proved wrong after I went on a daytrip to the seaside town of Tynemouth. Tynemouth is easy to get to from Newcastle city centre on the Metro as it is only 6 miles away. It has a number of stunning beaches and has always attracted tourists and locals because of this. Tynemouth Longsands and Tynemouth are probably the most popular beaches. Longsands is wide and sandy and great for surfing. In recent years it has become well known as it hosts an international surfing competition every year. King Edwards Bay is a smaller and more secluded beach. The beaches and sea views have always attracted visitors including Lewis Caroll in 1855. The front street is where all of Tynemouth''s amenities are including Marshall''s Fish and Chip restaurant which is well loved among local people and which always has a massive queue outside it. There are also various boutiques, shops, cafe''s, restaurants and hotels.

Tynemouth is one of the many seaside towns near to Newcastle, so if you fancy a trip out of the hustle and bustle you will definately get a change of atmosphere here. It is peaceful, yet lively, with a brilliant beach stretching out just below the castle which is great for a walk around on a sunny day. I loved the tacky stands selling hot dogs, it just reminded you of being at the seaside, but as well as the tackiness, there are some lovely pubs and restaurants in the town, and also some unique gift shops and excellent bakerys. There is somethng for everyone at Tynemouth but I would definately recommend the Blue Reef Aquarium as part of your day out.

Tynemouth in my opinion is beautiful. Its located about 20 minutes away, on the metro from Newcastle town centre, and costs as little as £3.50 return to get here. I have only been a handful of times to this lovely town when i was at univeristy, but i have thoroughly enjoyed myself each time i have been. The beach is located approximately 10 minutes away from the town centre, whichbecomes jam packed during the summer months and also attracts many surfers all year round. Its a great place to go to soak up the rays, have a paddle, play a game of frisbe and/or enjoy a bbq. The beach is huge, and its a great place to make new friends, as we realised when we first visited Tynemouth. As everyone knows when you visit a beach for the first time, you have to try out the local fish and chip shop. We went to north shields fish quays, and i can honestly say the fish and chips tatsed good. The town centre has a small range of shops, most of which you can pick up items to remind yurself of the day yu had at Tynemouth, a handful of restaurents, several bars and pubs and a few very nice cafes which are all located on a relatively small high street. Admittedly there isnt alot to do in tynemouth but i still feel as though its a wonderful place to visit.
