Im torn when it comes to reviewing nottingham, it is a lovely place, full of culture and diversity but with all the bad press it recieves you cant help but think what goes on. It has nice shops, good for a night out, the ice arena for shows, tours etc. It is a nice place, but im wary- thats the society we live in today im afraid :(

my mum grew up in arnold, lived there all of her childhood and her ten years. it has changed alot since then (so she says)..
arnold is a really nice small town based in nottingham, the houses look really nice modern houses, the residents seem really nice and friendly. apart from the few hoodies thinkign there gangsters, theres plenty of shops in arnold. wilkinsons, ethal austin, peacocks, select .etc, theres a couple of social clubs and these are always pleasant. i always used to go to the ex service club in arnold when i was a lil girl with my grandad and can remember seeing santa every year and he would give us a large selection box with a pound selotaped on the top. i will always have this as a memory lol.

Arnold is 3 miles away from Nottingham city centre and is a really great place to visit and live. I lived there for a few years in a upper class area located 5 minutes away from Arnold town. Arnold town itself is very modern and visually nice to look at. It has all the shops you would ever need including Asda, Argos, Halfords, Iceland, Co-op, Post office, All banks and a large variety of pubs. Arnold hosts a market in the centre 4 times a week and they sell everything from fresh veg to clothes and prices are very good.
If visiting Arnold with children then Arnold has plenty of Park to visit and soft play areas to keep the little ones occupied.
Al the pubs in the Arnold area all have that family feel hosting a great environment and quiz nights making a night out with your partner that little more special than just a quick pint out.
If keeping fit is your thing then Arnold has a very large Leisure center hosting a Large Swimming pool and Gym, but if running is your thing then just get your trainers on and have a nice jog around Arnold as there''s plenty to take in and you keep fit at the same time.

Having been brought up in Bulwell I have always found it a nice and peaceful place to visit on any day. I used to visit Bulwell as a child to see my grand parents and always enjoyed going out to parks and looking around the market with them.
Now living in Bulwell I see it on a day to day basis and spend most of my spare time in Bulwell doing my shopping ans taking the children out for dinner or to play.
Bulwell has a Market on every Tuesday, Flee Market Wednesday and Friday and Saturday selling anything and everything from fresh veg to Rugs for your home. As well as the Market Bulwell also has plenty of shops such as Woolworths, Wilkos,Farmfoods,Iceland, The Post Office, Matalan, Brantao, Wicks, KFC, Mcdonalds, Morrisons and Boots
Bulwell also has 2 doctor surgeries and at least 2 dental practices meaning you never have to go far for any medical attention. The children can be entertained with the Bulwell Bogs Play area and paddling pool which has been modernised and is very clean and tidy.
Transport wise there are plenty of buses in and out of Bulwell as well as a tram every 6mins so getting to and from is never a problem.

I have lived in Nottinghamshire all my life and have been to every town within the boundaries. Nottingham city centre is situated at the heart of Nottinghamshire but has many other towns with great local attractions and points of reference. Historically there is plenty of heritage to be seen. From Nottingham Castle to Sherwood Forest. There are plenty of other places to view which include Wollaton Park, Rufford Abbey Country Park and Bestwood Country Park.
As a Father I enjoy taking my children out and there is plenty of places to take them. Nottinghamshire holds plenty of farms and parks to keep the children occupied and all locations are safe and family friendly.
To summarize Nottinghamshire holds many lovely places to visit and enjoy with the whole Family. If you are thinking of moving to one of the many towns within Nottinghamshire then you would not have a problem finding all of the necessities you would require on a day to day basis, from schools to shops to leisure centers its all close at hand. Transport is also very good and all local transport can get you around Nottinghamshire with very little ease. Buses and Trains are very well reasonably priced and safe and comfortable.
Visit any part of Nottinghamshire and you wont be disappointed.

Arnold is a really lovely town in Nottingham. It is home to possibly the best Asda in Nottingham aswell as many other shops such as Argos, New Look, Wilkinsons and many more. They have a really nice market square and a market is on every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday as well as a flea market on a Wednesday.
There is a large leisure center with an excellent swimming pool!
Arnold also has a really good nightlife with many good restaurants and pubs that are a lot nicer and classier than neighbouring towns, there is never any trouble or anything and the atmosphere is really good. Housing in Arnold is excellent as well with hardly any council estates and mainly middle to upper class housing. I would love to live here.

Bulwell is a small rural town in the heart of Nottingham, a twenty minute drive from the city center and has plenty to offer. It has a tram service unlike alot of towns in Nottingham, with a tram and bus station in the main town center. There is a market on every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday aswell as a Flea Market on a Wednesday. You can pick up some really good bargains if you look hard enough.
There are plenty of shops such as a large Wilkinsons, Woolworths, Boots, Greggs, Select and many more as well as an Iceland. There is also a retail park in Bulwell that has a large Wickes, Brantano, Matalan, KFC, Mcdonalds and a Morrisons. There is a very good leisure center called Ken Martins which has swimming pools, a gym and many classes available. Bulwell also has a really good play park for children in the town center which has just had a 4000 pound water park added to it and its a great place to take the kids!
Bulwell has a bad reputation around Nottingham because of a few dodgy areas but I have lived here all my life and never had a problem. Obvioulsy there is the odd bit of trouble from annoying chavs on council estates who have nothing better to do but you get that everywhere!
I think Bulwell is a lovely town.

I have lived in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire for my 26 years. I have found it a lovely place to live. There are many areas of Nottinghamshire; Bassetlaw district which has towns such as Worksop and Retford which are much smaller than Nottingham City, but are beautiful places to visit full of countryside and culture. There is the Sherwood and Newark district, housing towns such as Olleton and Newark. There is the Mansfield district, Ashfield district, Broxtowe district, Rushcliife District and the of course City of Nottingham. Nottingham is the largest city in the county of Nottinghamshire and has plenty to offer. Tourist attractions such as Nottingham Castle, Caves of Nottingham, Tales of Robin Hood - all Robin Hood related of course! There is a great night life in Nottingham too with nightclubs and bars to suit everyone. Rock City being my favourite! There are 2 large shopping malls in Nottingham too, Broad Marsh and Victoria Center. There is something for everyone.
Sherwood and Newark district has, of course, Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak, which is worth a visit. It is very beautiful there.
Ashfield, more accurately, Hucknall has a few historic places to visit such as the birthplace of Lord Byron.
Bassetlaw District, more specifically, Retford is a lovely place to go. it''s like being on a countryside holiday! Lots of fields and rivers and canals. They have a beautiful church called St Swithuns which you can go inside and look around. The stain glass windows there are amazingly beautiful. There are also a few war memorials in Retford that are nice to see.
All in all, I think Nottinghamshire is a lovely place.
