Nottingham has a large city centre and Medical School. I find that shopping in Nottingham is a pain, because the two different shopping centres are on different sides of the town.

I like how Nottingham is famous for its Robin Hood heritage and the remnants of the Nottingham Castle walls can still be seen. You can go to 'The Tales Of Robin Hood' to find out more about this exciting history!

nottingham city centre is vibrant and fresh, with a great nightlife and a large selection of shops and bars to frequent. the transport links are pretty good, with a tram service throughout the city. they have an icerink, which is great, where they also hold lots of gigs and events.

i like the feel of nottingham, it had a really happy feel to it, with plenty of people around and a good mix of old and new, with generic shops and local shops mixing well. the nightlife is good, with plenty of pubs and good places to eat in the centre, and a cinema right in the centre as well. the parking can be a bit of a nightmare, and most of it is multistorey, but it''s certainly worth a visit if you''ve never been.

Nottingham is a great place to escape for a bit of retail therapy the Victoria centre is often very busy as a lot of people go here. Due to this being a popular university choice a lot of the Nottingham population is made up of students thus being known for trouble come the evening when they are out hitting the bars. This has attracted a lot of coverage with bad news in the press however everybody has a different view on the place I would say if your thinking of going not to let other peoples views sway you, you have to make your own decision.

I visit Nottingham quite often as I have family there. I know it''s got some bad press lately but I don''t feel unsafe when I go there. I love how all the shops are scattered about and you can find some real unique shops here too. The tram is good although not been on it myself yet but it adds a certain charm to the place. There are plenty of bars, clubs and restaurants so everyone is well catered for. The university is well known and very good although you don''t get as many students about as you do in neighbouring cities. All the shopping centres offer good quality shops, large department stores. The transport to and from Nottingham is really good and quite cheap. I like coming here. Highly recommended.

We visit Nottingham quite a bit for concerts and i must say it is one of my favourite places to visit. There is a good selection of shops, bars and places to eat. There is a real multicultural feel to the place. We usually stay in the Hilton hotel which has a central location. It is easy to get around on the tram and the passes are relativly cheap. It has an excellent pedestrianised city centre ideal for all day shopping! It does seem to be busy all the time, full of hustle and bustle.

For shopping, i would definately recomment Nottingham. The shops there are all the regular high street names, Topshop, Office, H&M etc.. but whenever i go they always seem to have a wider more different variety of products in store to chose from. I would describe the main shopping area on a hill, with two indoor shopping areas at either end and a variety of shops inbetween them. The two centres also have a number of stalls set up that sell little unique items which can sometimes be tacky but you can also find a good bargin on occasions as well. There are also a number of coffee shops, cafes and eating places to chose from all over town too. Nottingham has a very lively nightlife, but its reputation at night is not very good as there is numerous reports of stabbings and drug dealings which take place in the city for example and I dont think i would feel comfortable on a night out in this city.

I love Nottingham and go there quite regally, itts a short train ride from my town of Grantham and only cost about 5 on the train so is much cheaper than driving and parking although I have driven to Nottingham a few times, but at xmas when its busy itts easier to take the train. Nottingham has a large variety of shops on offer and they are spread over 2 large shopping centres and on the city streets, there is always a shopping atmosphere in notts and its infectious itts a buzzing city, the shopping centres are both lovely clean and tidy, with plenty of security staff so you feel safe, they even hire out push along cars, and pushchairs for your little ones so you donnt have to bring yours along or if your child starts to feel lazy, I thought this was a great idea. I know people have the perception that Nottingham isnnt safe but I have always felt safe here, whether it has been shopping in the day, walking back to the car after a gig, you just have to keep your wits about you the same as you do anywhere, we recently went to a gig at the notts arena and it was great such a atmosphere about the place and a great venue. i strongly recommend Nottingham for a visit, even if itts just a shopping trip.

This is a nice city.. its a shame there is so much bad press and gun crime in this city. I think its very historical. the town is massive with loads of shops bars and resturants. The nightlife is really good and the atmopshere is good. Only thing is that i was abit weary walking round thinking that i could get shot or stabbed any time and that it could be me! just due to the fact that nottingham is always on the news! The university is very good and has got a godo reputation. They also have trams which i dont have in my city which i think is really good and a quick way of getting about

I''m afraid that I don''t visit Nottingham as much as I used to as I don''t feel as safe as I ought to anymore. I''ll always remember the time we visited and we got home and on the local news there was a stabbing outside a take away not an hour after we has left the same place. The centre of Nottingham isn''t all bad though, it seems to be the estates surrounding the city that have the worst press.

Anyway, on to the positives. Nottingham is a large city siutated on the A52. The roads in and out of Nottingham can be a nightmare although it''s worth perservering! Two large shopping centres and lots of shops on streets also. Large areas of the city are pedestrianised and there is a tram system in place also. Good train service into the centre also.

Although I''ve gone on about the crime aspect, I do still enjoy shopping in Nottingham from time to time.

Nottingham is a fun place with plenty to do. If you like shopping, you could walk around for hours in a mix of modern shops and quirky side street stores.

When university is in, it is one of the best places in the UK for night life. You''ll also have a good selection of trendy food eateries.

There are several cheesy tourist attractions, so keep an eye out and make sure you ask people tha t are lucky enough to live in and around the centre for a tip or two. One of my top places is the castle.

Getting to Nottingham by train is easy and you are only a short walk into the centre. From the North and South, the M1 motorway is a good bet to get you there.

Nottingham is the home of Robin Hood. Nottingham is heavily influenced by all things Robin Hood. for example Center Parcs (Nottingham)

Nottingham is convenient. International flights fly from East Midlands airport. In addition, Nottingham and Birmingham, Leeds London, Sheffield are all within a few hours of each other. This makes Nottingham very convenient.
