Banbury is a great little commuter town. You can get anywhere in the country from here. The train station will get you to Birmingham in 45 minutes and London Marylebone in great time. The train in to London is the most punctual in the country.
You have indoor shopping here and outdoor shopping on the square. Parking can be a challenge outside so leave extra time. In the shopping area, which isn't huge, you have your basic shops. Outdoor shops on the high street are pretty dated. Ok for a stroll up or down the street though.
Plenty of pubs and bars to keep you going with enough trouble in town if you need to find it. The night club can be fun if you fancy an adventure.
There are little villages nearby for good country living. I spent some time in Overthorpe and loved it. Great views and great country pubs all within 10 minutes of town.
Easy to get to Oxford, Northampton, London and Birmingham from here.
Don't forget Banbury Cross!
Morrisons is the place to shop here for Groceries.

This isn''t the most picteuresque town as far as the oxfordshire towns go but it has its pretty bits, aswell as its more industrial bits. It has a pizza hut, but it wasn''t the best pizza hut I''d been in. There are quite a few shops which is good, and theres a lot of history to some of the local statues that the locals are proud of. Theres probably about 10 at the most pubs, which all have a similair sort of old England feel, except a few that have been moderned up a bit. Not much night life, a bus into oxford, some good shops, friendly people, and fairly low house prices.
