This is a beautiful, friendly and relaxed little town, and I remember it for the lake my mum used to take me to to feed the ducks. Theres some history to this town which is worth looking up if you plan a visit and there are some really nice part that are all open and green which would be good for a family day out, aswell as some pubs which provide a perfect place for a pub lunch. People are very relaxed, and there are some nice restaurants, including a nice italian on a corner if I remember correctly, but I did go there a very long time ago.

This is a really nice village near oxford - and although to us youngsters woodstock may make us think of a load of pretty cool people in flares dropping some acid and waiting for jimmi hendrix to come on stage this isn''t quite that case. In fact it probably couldn''t be more opposite. It has a really charming atmosphere - very high class and nicely looked after. It is best known for (I think this is how it''s spelt) Blenheim place - a really great place to go and have a picnic and walk around - beautiful grounds. The location of woodstock is also pretty good, there is a bus every half an hour to oxford, so you can see this place then head to oxford to continue your day (I''m not sure how long you could spend in woodstock - although there are a fair few small town culturey things to see).

Woodstock is one of the most famous villages in England mostly for the fact that it is home to Blenheim palace and secondly because it shares its name with the even more famous Woodstock festival. The Oxford village is amazingly beautiful and theefore it attracts the crme de al crme of the English. Prices are very high for everything in Woodstock not least of all house prices. All the shops are very upmarket delis/antique shops/interior shops and expensive clothes shops. The ratio of estate agents to properties available seems very high but this is a very sort after area.
Bleinheim palace has beautiful grounds which anyone can walk in if they pay the ridiculous price of £5. Every year the Duke of Marlborough has a game fair which means the traffic in Oxford is at a standstill for three days and this makes for angry bosses whose employees are late for work.
Woodstock has a great selection of pubs and hotels that do brilliant gastro pub food sourced from local produce. This is a very safe village and they have a wonderful farmers market but you better turn up early or all the good stuff will be gone. Also beware there is nowhere really to park in Woodstock accept for a carpark by the fire station which is very tucked away. There is a good museum too.

Woodstock is one of the most beautiful villages in England. It is also home to the famous Blenheim Palace but this place should be famous purely in its own right for its gorgeous pubs and houses. It is very small and all the shops are pretty expensive and exclusive looking though so you need to be seriously wealthy to live here full time. It has a great farmers market that sells amazing home made produce and many excellent restaurants and pubs that do great food. The place to eat is The Bear Hotel and the place to go is the grounds of Blenheim. It costs £5 to get in which seems a lot but the view of the countryside and the walk is fantastic and so well worth it. There is a lovely lake which looks great all year round and a certain times of the year it has many ducks and swans swimming in it.
