Brecon is my home town, its a small market town in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, it attracts huge tourist interest due its beautiful sites and walking trails, it has three rivers in it the main one being the river Usk that runs straight threw the middle of town with the river Honddu and Avon Tarell running into it both sides, other tourist attractions of the town include the historical points of the Brecon Cathedral and the ruins of the Castle as well as Christ College the school that was founded in 1541 by Henry VIII and still has many of the same building from the day it was founded. Other attractions are the two museums one about the history of Brecon the other being the Royal regiment of Wales museum down the Wotton, which is all about the Zulu was as the South Wales borderers were based in Brecon, in the museum is the actual flag from rawks drift as well as an actual Victoria cross. Apart from all the history and beautiful landscape Brecon is probably best known for holding the annual Brecon Jazz festival on the second weekend of August every year, it attracts some of the most famous Jazz artists in the world such as Jules Holland and if your not a fan of Jazz people still come along for the friendly party atmosphere. As the whole of Brecon comes together to enjoy themselves over a couple of alcoholic beverages. The best places to stay in the town are probably between The George Hotel and the Wellington hotel both of which are very central in the town, other places would be the Castle hotel as well as many good Bed and Breakfasts. Other reasons to come to Brecon is the Theatre Brecyniog which regularly has live acts in which attracts many people. Brecon is a great place to visit and a great place to live.

Brecon (or Aberhonddu in Welsh) is a small market town that lies in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Its a popular tourist destination and there is plenty to do in and around the town.
Brecon is pretty quiet as far as towns go and as far as living is concerned its quite a sleepy place! On the plus side Brecon has a great night life with two night clubs and lots of pubs and bars. Throughout they year it is very busy at night, particualrly in the centre of town. Other highlights include the Brecon Jazz festival which is often frequented by Jazz legends such as Joan Armatrading and Jools Holland. The festival is world renowned for its jazz and during the festival a great party atmosphere engulfs the whole town as people come from far and wide for a night out.
Brecon is a pretty town with lots to do, particularly in the evenings, there is plenty of variety and many great places to eat and drink. The local community are hugely welcoming to tourists and vistors and there is a great community spirit throughout the town.
