Machynlleth is a small market town in the middle of Wales. It is a small place with only about 2000 people in the town. Naturally this means that for younger people there is a lack of things to do. The town has good travel links to local places and is linked by train to Aberystwyth. It is a bit of a journey to do everyday but itts a good link to have. The town itself is quite pretty and the famous clock tower is beautiful. It was recently under threat of being torn down but the locals set up a campaign to keep it up. It would be a great shame were it to fall as it is something to behold. The surrounding area is quite beautiful and there are plenty of walks and mountain biking trails nearby. There are also some nice finds along the road, places of interest such as the Centre for Alternative Technology which is basically a showroom for different energy ideas and such. Altogether, Machynlleth is a very quiet place and its rural base shows through. Itts a very nice place to stop on the road to other places but I donnt think that I could live there as it is a little dull.
