I live here and it's not bad. Its a small town, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons so as you can imagine the views are breath taking especially on a clear day, there are a few nice pubs here that I have previously reviewed the best being the castle or new inn. The town has a good spirit and there is always a good turn out when ever the local sports teams play, the biggest being when the rugby team that goes by the name Gwernyfed rfc play. Although it's a small town there isn't much here really thereeâ€s a small local co-op a local butchers and a couple of small shops, so for most people that live here the nearest place to get things would be Brecon which is only about 8 miles away with regular buses running in and out. The recreation facilities in the town include two rugby pitches, a football pitch, two tennis courts and a cricket pitch the local ruby club also has a gym which you can buy a membership for although if your a member at the club you get free membership, the local caravan/campsite which is called lakeside caravan park has a swimming pool and small gym which can be used anybody. Despite all the good things of this town there are a few negatives the town has a reputation of a bit of a dump and not a nice place to live this is largely down to the fact there used to be a mental hospital at the top of the town which has now been shut down and the towns reputation is slowly starting to get better. Other problems with the town are the youths that hang around outside the public toilets which causes a lot of problems with a lot of locals, despite these though it is an okay place to live and is starting to go up on the property ladder.
