Welshpool is a lovely little town near the border of England and Wales.
There are many attractions and activities to do in and around Welshpool.
For those of you that love castles there is Powis Castle, and inside the castle is the Clive Museum, which houses a lovely collection of treasures from India.
Train enthusiasts, how about a ride on a working stream train. The train takes you throught 16 miles of the lovely countryside around Welshpool. I loved going on the train when I was small.
Welshpool is home to the largest sheep market in Europe, I have to say market day is one day that we have never been on. Can''t imagine sheep all over the place.
The town itself has shops that offer locally produced items and that show the Welsh culture.
For the sport people out there Welshpool has 2 leisure centres which both offering a range of activities which including swimming and indoor bowling. If you enjoy more sporty activities how about trying horseriding or fishing. Been a in rural setting theres plenty of opportunities to do these and many more.
Welshpool was always the place where we stopped on the way to Barmouth, where we had a holiday home. I always enjoyed our stop overs here as its such a lovely little place with very friendly locals.
