Ellesmere is a small medieval market town (Not to be confused with Ellesmere Port ).True to it''s name it has a mere where you can fish (with a permit which are available from the tackle shop in the town) On the Mere you wil find all manner of birds and wildlife wonderful for feeding the ducks , swans and geese or you can take a boat out on it .
There is a small amount of parking near the mere but we always park in the town centre ( you only have to cross the road to get to the mere)
There are some lovely indepentant shops in Ellesmere which are well worth a visit .
Every year they have the boat Rally on the LLangollen canal also you can take a stroll along the canal or go to the Arboretum.
Nearby you have Shrewsbury , Wrexham and Oswestry all of which have lots to see and do.
Accomodation wise there is a wide choice for every pocket Sandy Hill from 350.00 a night to The Newnes Touring Caravan Park at 10 a night .
A few places to eat and drink .
All in all a lovely town .
