Shrewsbury is my town of birth and where I grew up and lived until the age of 18 so the town is still very dear to me. As a child, it didnnâ€t seem the most eventful of places to live but IIâ€ve now grown to appreciate it more and I only wish I could afford to live there now, despite the fact that most of my childhood friends have moved on.

Shrewsbury is a historic town with plenty of Tudor buildings and other interesting architecture in the town centre. There is also the Quarry, which houses the dingle, a beautifully kept garden area with ponds and fountains. The Quarry is also home to the flower show each year which attracts visitors from all over the country.

During the summer, the Quarry is a lovely place to relax and from the other side of the river, you can watch the rowing boats during the regatta.

The town centre has plenty of shops and has a great combination of high street stores and lesser known boutiques and shops selling quirky and unique items. Being quite an affluent town, you wonnâ€t struggle to find the latest designer fashions in the town centre and there are plenty of trendy bars and cafes to hang out in after a long day shopping.

Shrewsbury also boasts a fantastic nightlife with plenty of pubs and bars to suit all tastes. Even more convenient, is their close proximity to one another, making a pubcrawl a fun and eventful night out.

Shrewsbury is a fantastic town which is full of history and culture and plenty of things to keep people of all ages interested and entertained. So if youuâ€re ever in Shropshire, take a day out to visit the county town as youuâ€ll be sure to have a memorable stay.

Shrewsbury is a gorgeous picturesque town with plenty of history. Every body I bring to Shrewsbury always comments on how lovely it is.

Shrewsbury boasts 2 shopping centres with shops including warehouse, monsoon, Topshop, Principles, Marks and Spencer and Next amongst plenty of others. As well as your usual high street stores, Shrewsbury is packed with small independent shops tucked away in-between the old buildings and cobbled streets.
Shrewsbury is great for unusual and sometimes handmade silver jewellery. Wile cop is always my first stop if IIm going jewellery shopping.
Designer shops, surf shops, home shops and shops selling all natural soaps and candles can be found after a little exploring.

Eating in Shrewsbury is often a good experience with a good choice of bars, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Therees everything from Chinese, Italian, Tapas, contemporary British food, and of course lots of home-made pub grub!
You can also find a couple of excellent Delicatessens in Shrewsbury and a lovely little whole food deli (Wild Thyme) selling some veg, lots of herbs and spices and lots of organic produce.

If history is more your thing there is the old castle which is now the regimental museum which has a lovely well kept garden and a fabulous view over Shrewsbury.

In the summer, the best place to picnic is the quarry, right by the river, with gardens and lots of well kept grass to sit on. It is also right next to the leisure centre. The quarry hosts the Shrewsbury flower show annually as well as some concerts in the summer.
