Frome "Its a wonderful place" is the slogan for frome and its true. I've lived in the area all my life and can honestlly say it is nicest town in area. The architecture is lovely and has one the highest percentages of listed buildings in England it is also the largest market town in Somerset and was voted number 8 in the top 10 most desirable places to live in the Sunday Times a couple of years ago. Catherine Hill has some of nicer shops selling home made clothes lots of crafts and rugs!. Frome also has plenty of lovely pubs of which there is much variety and lovely churches, not least st Johns in the town centre.

I used to live in frome for a while as a child, and from what i remember of it was the beautiful scenery aswell as the river, and the beautiful cobbled streets, The community was really close hand happy to help with anything. In the town ther eis plenty of butchers and backers and places to eat aswell as litte hippy type shops. If youwanting to take children there then i dont reccomens as there is hardly anything for them to do.

Having family who have lived in Frome for over 20 years, i have regularly visited here.... In this time, i dont feel it has changed much at all...

There are sufficent shops for the size of town that it is-an Argos, Somerfield, newsagents, butchers, bakers and lots and lots of little gift shops and ethnic/hippy shops that really represent the feel of the town....

The walk from Vicarage Street, into town has some lovely architecture and water features

The George Pub, does a fab Cappacino and the building at the bottom of the carpark (cant remeber its name-but it often has bands playing etc) does some great cheap food to enjoy after visiting the saturday market..

There are some lovely walks along the river, and alot of original small steep cobble streets, with bespoke shops/galleries in.

A lovely place to visit, but i wouldnt recommend taking children as there isnt really anything to do,other than parks that are out of town.

Frome is quite a nice place but only somewhere to spend the day. It feels like a somerset town with butchers and greengrocers and lots of other sweet small businesses. There isn''t a huge amount to do but if you look around there is some quite nice arcitecture and a couple of small museum things. It isn''t really a place for drinking, there are pubs but it''s pretty locally, you''re better off heading up on the train to bristol or somewhere. It has a little river things you can throw sticks in. also a good chapel i seem to remember.
