Llantwit Major is a lovely small seaside town . The beach is stony and hard to get on but it is a beach (once you get over the rocks it does have a nice beach ) it also has some lovely walks that you can take ,if you want sand with no rocks you are better going to nearby Barry .Accomadtion is quite limited with no big hotels at all you will be better off staying in a bed and breakfast or maybe go camping or stay in a caravan.
The lesuire centre is good it has a good size pool and runs activites for children during the school holidays. Also there are a couple of skate parks so things for teenagers to do .
Llantwit Major is also a good place to stay if you plan to visit Barry ( which as a railways and the Amiela trust farm), Cardiff or maybe bridgend as it is central to them all.
The people of Llantwit Major are always friendly and helpful.
If you expect lots of shopping centres then this is not the place for you space is limited as it has kept its character over the years .
