Glasgow is a massive city located on the Eastern side of Scotland. If you like shopping you will love Glasgow it has about 2 of every High Street shop and loads of little local shops too exclusive to Glasgow.

It is easily accessible by train or bus from all parts of Scotland. I got the train in from Balloch and it was very reasonably priced and quick and easier than parking in the city. Having said that there is plenty of parking in the city centre.

There are loads of museums to visit if it is a rainy day and the Burrell art collection.

Accomodation isn't a problem there are loads of city centre hotels or stay on the outskirts and get the train in. There are some rough parts of GLasgow but if you stick to the centre of the city there isn't a problem.

Glasgow is a really vibrant and happening city. Well worth a visit.

Glasgow is Scotlands largest city located on the west coast. There is lots to do in Glasgow and a real metropolitan feel. For starters, Glasgow has many parks, including Pollock park which has won best park in Europe awards and is a great place to go and explore there is many events held here too.
Entertainment would include Xscape adventure centre with the real ski slope and climbing walls, cinemas in various locations across the city. The science museum is a must to entertain kids and of course for adults it is great fun also.
Glasgow is great for shopping, with the main areas including Buchanan Street, Argyle street and Sauchiehall street. Two main shopping centres in the town are St enoch centre and Buchanan gallaries where you can find all the high street stores, i would say the Buchanan gallaries is by far the best out of the two.
I think Glasgows nightlife is great, every night of the week there is a nightclub you can head to that is really busy, and at the weekend they are all packed full. My favourite places to go are Bamboo, Kushion and Maggie Mays as a great crowd is always in attendance and there is often good drinks promos.
With 3 universities in the city centre, Glasgow is always very busy with students and there are many nightclubs, bars and shops that cater for students with discounts etc.
The west end of Glasgow is a great hang out for students and has some very trendy bars and unique clothes shops, however i often find the west end to be a bit stuck up.
I love Glasgow, and have never had a problem with crime, i think it is one of the friendliest cities as people area always up for a good banter.

Glasgow is the best city in scotland and i am not saying that just because i live here.
Having visited most of scotlands other cities they just do not compare.
Glasgow really does have more to offer the shopping is amazing with a huge choice from designer to high street undercover in the st enoch centre or out and about in busy sauchiehall street.
The glasgow people are so friendly and welcoming and if you want a good night out you came to the right place! Student life is fantastic in glasgow with so many excellent opportunities for higher education and cheap halls of residence to stay in.
If you want gigs and live music you can choose from the Secc and clyde auditorium where all the big acts play to the barrowlands and carling academy, King tuts is where Oasis and Franz ferdinand got their big breaks.
If its sports you like then football is the game here, we have scotlands home stadium of Hampden park as well as two major teams Rangers and Celtic who have their home grounds at opposite ends of the city.
City of culture award has been won by glasgow before, George square is fantastic with the amazing buildings overlooking it including the city chambers building.
Visit Glasgow school of art deigned by Charles Rennie Macintosh. Days out here include Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum or the Science centre for children with imax.
Perhaps the best time to visit is over the festive period as glasgow loves to party and the celebrations include the winter festival where george square has an outdoor ice skating rink, christmas lights and fireworks show all this in the city centre.
Glasgow is easy to get too by all means of transport there are two rail stations in the city centre as well as two airports and a large bus station.

Glasgow is the biggest city in Scotland and i love going there for a weekend away. Its only a few hours rom where i live and very easy to get to by either car, bus or train (there are two train stations, Queen Street and Central) or plane - to either Gasgow International Airport or Glasgow Prestwick International . There are so many shops to visit along Sauchiehall Street, Buchanan Street and all the ones inside and beside the St Enoch Centre.
As well as shopping there are plenty more things in Glasgow for visitors to do such as visit the Gallery of Modern Art (which is in the city centre) and The Burrell Collection. Glasgow also has many places to go to listen to live music such as the SECC and The Barrowland and there is also 3 football stadiums where Rangers (Ibrox), Celtic (Celtic Park) and Scotland (Hampden) play.
Because there are 4 Universities within a 10 mile radius of the city centre there is a great nightlife here, plenty of pubs and clubs selling drinks at reasonable prices

I never know what to really make of Glasgow, there is so much said about the place that you never know what to really expect. I have only visited Glasgow half a dozen times and it''s not somewhere that I would choose to go to a lot.

When you arrive in Glasgow whether it be by train, bus, plane, car or any other transport you can''t help noticing that the place is huge, but there isn''t a very pretty part that makes you feel welcome or even brightens it up at all. It''s quite dirty and dull looking with all roads always busy and not really a minute to sit and take in where you are, once you get into the Centre of Glasgow things don''t get any better or worse. No-one seems happy and seldom friendly. It always feels a very lonely place to be.

The shops are good, nice and big and plenty to choose from. There iare a couple of shopping centres, one being Buchanan galleries which is a nice size and very central with loads of shops and another being Braehead Shopping Centre, the first time I visited Braehead I took a boat from the Centre of Glasgow to the Centre, it was a nice boat trip passing the SECC and many other businesses, it took about 20 mins to half an hour. It was fun and started the day well. The Shopping Centre itself was great, loads of shops it looked busy, but was very clean and tidy. You can spend all day there as there are so many shops.

I have also been to the SECC a couple of times for concerts, its about a 20min walking from the Centre, there is a train from there as well if you don''t want to walk. I love the atmosphere when going to the SECC it feels so friendly and everyone is always in high spirits. It''s definately my favourite place for concerts.

Glasgow is a friendly welcoming city which attracts visitors of all ages.
If you are after retail therapy then you will be spoilt for choice with the city centre, it has everything from high street to designer boutiques as well as many shopping malls and retail parks on the outer bounds of the city.
Eating out is a treat with a huge variety of restaraunts, cafes & bistros catering for everyones taste.
Glasgow has an amazing nightlife with so many clubs, pubs and bars full of glasgow people having a good time.
If shopping or going out is not your thing then Glasgow has amazing architecture & design see the work at the Glasgow school of art of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Scotlands most renowned architect & designer.
Visit George Square overlooked by the impresive City Chambers building right in the heart of the city centre.
Or the beautiful Botanical gardens so tranquil right in the middle of glasgow''s busy west end.
Young or old Glasgow has it all, with excellent transport links and two airports you will find it easy to get there.

Glasgow is Scotlands largest and undoubtably Scotlands best City! It has something for everyone in every aspect. Shoppers can choose from the tradional high street shops such as Topshop to the luxury of the Italian Centre situated in the Merchant city area. Likewise with the food- you can go cheap and cheerful in Burger King or to a much more expensive option in one of Glasgows many top restaurants. The pubs in Glasgow are among the best in the world and whether you''re looking for a quiet drink or heading off to a night out you''ll definately find something to suit. If pubbing and clubbing isn''t your thing Glasgow has a large MultiPlex cinema and two main theatres The Kings and The Pavillion and these regularly run top shows and are both excellent. For the cultre vultures there is Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the "West End" area where many of the pubs run theatre type evenings. For kids, there is the Science Centre and the Imax-educational and fun. Glasgow has so many areas, including the restaurants and cinema complex at the Quay and the Princes square shooping centre, it really would take a long time to go through them all, so all i can say is have a visit to see Glasgow for yourself- you won''t be dissapointed!

Glasgow is not far from me and i enjoy it. Not only does it have the secc a place where concerts are held and shows like the ideal home show exhibition, parking is expensive but worth it if its a treat. Glasgow has a science centre which is full of interactive activites for the children to participate in and you can find yourself spending a few hours here without realising it. Onto the shops the shops are spread out you have st enochs centre which is undercover and has a food court comsisting of kfc, mcdonalds, chinese, baked potatoes etc. the toilets are clean and cost 20p to get into. there are a variety of shops from bhs, adams, bay trading, and boots plus lots more. there is the buchanan galleries with plenty of parking i found it quite expensive to park but it is popular so get there early. it has a food court and lots of shops john lewis, bear factory, boots, thorntons, river island, bay trading and lots more its undercover as well. there is buchanan street which is a street consisting of shops from zara, monsoon, frasers etc also aryle street which is located beside st enochs centre has primark, marks and spencers wh smiths plus more. for another street is suchiehall street again with lots of shops so if your going for shopping you''ll not be dissapointed. the access to glasgow as you would imagine for a city is excellent, rail and buses travel frequently. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and hotels located in the centre. There are various clubs and museums i could write an essay so wont but glasgow is a place to visit and you will always find something to do regardless of the weather.
