I have visited Inverary a lot as you can go via Inverary to Oban. Inverary sits on the shores of loch fyne it started as a fishing village and you can still see fishing boats today at the harbour. there is also a maritime museum. There are car park spaces over looking the loch and what a view when it is clear and sunny it is stunning. there is a large castle which is open to the public. it can be difficult to park there so they have another car park. the castle plays a large part in the history of Inverary and showcases not only art and the history but also various pieces of furniture. one place you would definately associate inverary with is inverary jail which is very popular. is open daily and is good for the children and their imagination, as you learn what it was like being a prisoner years ago. The shops are located mainly on one street it is relatively wide with traditional scottish shops including short bread. there also have the essential shops like butchers and post office etc. the buildings are very white! there are a numer of hotels to stay in. i like to eat ice cream as i enjoy the scenery but of course thats after the fish and chips!
