Prestwick is some 30 miles from Glasgow on the west coast of Scotland. Its nearest big town is Ayr. Prestwick airport is on the outskirts of the town across from a small caravan park. You can get to the airport by train which has a straight link to it or car but can not be dropped right outside you have to park and walk. Prestwick has a fantastic beach which is lovely to walk along. Prestwick has plenty of restaurants, hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation to suit everyonees budget .
Therees a swimming pool, health and fitness centre, tennis courts 4 golf clubs, a cricket club and a bowling club. For the kiddies there is a big soft play area.
The Bruce''s Well is a historic well that folk say helps heal there skin problems.
There are lots of shops in the main street but not many big stores a lot of wee knick nacks.
Prestwick is also home to a royal navy air station where rescue helicopters are stationed.
Prestwick has four schools, three primary and one high school and a few nursery classes
There are regular bus service to Ayr, Troon, Irvine, Ardrossan, Kilmarnock and Glasgow. When looking across the water on a clear day you can see Arran. A great wee town although quiet for a wee trip to.
