Egham is a cool little place that has a university atmosphere to it. With Royal Holloway university there, that''s a good reason for that atmosphere. Because of this, the pubs are extra friendly and fun. Because there are less distractions in Egham, the pubs are heaving with students. The campus is a real close knit community.

Shopping (unless for a used sports car) is not fantastic there. There are only a limited number of shops. What you do have in Egham though is those roads, trees and scenery of Surrey. It''s the kind of place that would make a really safe place to live. Another reason for Egham being an ideal place to live is the closeness to other major locations. Egham sits on the Waterloo line right into London. I don''t think it takes any more than a half hour into London from here by train. Ascot, Virginia Water and Cobham aren''t far away either. Parking is limited in Egham if you want to take the train so make sure you set off early.

Egham is a small town full of character in the Runnymede borough of Surrey, South East England. This is fantastic location for any commuters into London as it is a mere 20 miles from central London and it is right by the River Thames and junction 13 of the M25 motorway. I would say that it is most famous for having the Royal Holloway University in its town which is one of the top British Universities. Other historical attractions of this small town include the Magna Carta memorial which holds many school trips as well as the John F Kennedy memorial. If you want to find out more about the general history of the town then there is a small museum in the town centre.

One thing Egham is not short of is pubs and restaurants of which there are loads including Cafe Piccolo and Cafe Uno so you can rest assured that you will never be hungry or thirsty whilst in this town.

However, unfortuantely this place is not that great for young people as there is no cinema, bowling, young people's shops and generally things to do for the younger generation.

A nice town overall though just lacking things to do really!
