Leatherhead is a quaint little town just off the M25 that is the perfect blend between city life and country life. Benefitting from great commuter links into Central London, Leatherhead has become a commuter town. This has lead to redevelopment that continues to make the town better.

For anyone looking for a scenic walk, the Mole River is at the bottom of the hill and provides some beautiful scenery to admire. There are also a great number of Country style pubs as well as other restaurants making eating out an enjoyable activity. There are limited retail outlets meaning it is not the best place if shopping is the main agenda; however, it makes the perfect place for an escape from the Hustle and Bustle of day to day life. A couple of days a week a market comes to town which is perfect for a bit of Bargain Hunting!

Leatherhead boasts fantastic educational facilities as well so don''t be surprised if you see many school students in the evenings after school. St John''s is on Epsom Road and is the main Secondary School in the area. It is a brilliant school and hoasts a variety of sporting and other cultural events that are worth going to if the opportunity arises.

Finally, Leatherhead is also the home town of famous British Actor, Sir Michael Caine!

I have to say that the first thing that springs to my mind when I think of Leatherhead is the Leisure Centre there where I spent many Saturday's at various different birthday parties. However, obviously there is more to this Surrey town than this. It is both a successful business centre, historic market town and home to some of the beautiful Surrey hills. All of these attributes explain why it has such great character and attracts interest from all over the country and world. Summer days are lovley in Leatherhead as the River Mole runs through the town centre and its so nice to just relax and it also makes the town look very beautiful. The river is one of the most beautiful features of Leatherhead and Surrey. The river is a great place to spot wildlife if that is your thing as it provides a habitat for many birds, plants and insects. I have even seen a few Kingfishers over the years!

Leatherhead is also full of tradition and this includes lots of old buildings which also add to the towns character. All of the churches date back to the 11th century. Great for any budding historians or architects!! However, as nice as the town is, it is not a place I would go if I wanted to go shopping which is why I have voted it neutral. It really lacks modern shops which is fine for the older generation but for the younger generation, it is quite frustrating and there is generally not much for them to do.

But if it is tranquil Surrey Hills or National Heritage sites then Leatherhead is definitely the place for you!!
