Ive been to jarrow many of times i have a friend that lives here. I personally say there isnt much there. Thers a little town with a few shops called the viking centre in there there is various branded shops like wilkinsons, heron food and a lloyds tsb bank and a morrisons. There is always a lot of teenagers hanging around here playing really loud rave music which is awfull they made me feel very intimidated.
Jarrow also has its own metro station , which takes you directly to the local town centre (southshields).
Theres a nice little library on cambrain street, this library is open till gone 7pm in the evening, making it great for students offering the flixibilty of study times. This library allows the use of a fax machine and photocopier to the public ( at a small charge ), they also hire out dvds and videos too. My little girl loves the talking books from here, ive rented them out many if times i wish more libraries would do this.We have also been to story time here too, its a little group held on a monday and its great for toddlers to listen and interact with not only other children but staff and other mummies too. This library also does regualr coffe mornings but im not too sure on what days. Overall a greta library.
I dont really have anything else to say about jarrow as it hasnt got any great pubs or restaurants here. Its a little place where everyone knows everyone. My friend lives here and loves it.
