This is one of my favourte places to be, I have grew up around Newcastle as a few of my relatives live here. Newcastle is a large city with hundreds of shops and alot of shopping centres such as elden square, the mall and department stores such a fenicks. It also has well names store such as john lewis and barker and stone house and baby gap and the disney shop. Christmas is the best time to visit as there is alot of decorations hung up all around the city. Also little displays in shop windows.
Newcastle is also popular for its sights such as the tyne bridge the riverside and the monument. Also the football stadium which is often shown on the news. It also has its very own newcastle shop were you can buy all your football kit and acsessories from.
It is a clean city with its own football team and it also has its own china town which i have visited a few times. It has lots of chineese reastraunts and shops too.
There are two hospitals in newcastle which are called The royal Victoria infermary and The freemans. the royal victoria infermary is in the centre of newcastle and the freemans is on the outskirts of newcastle.
There are many clubs pubs and bars to choose from too. all are in reach of each other and there is always a livley atmosphere in the town.
There are also many hotels to choose from if you want to stay in newcastle i have stayed in a few and i have found them all really nice and posh.
There is a main train station and alot of metro stations which are fast and take you to areas around the newcastle area. All for a cheap price but you can find quicker ways of walking.
i would recomend living in newcastle or visiting as i go every year and i never want to go home

Newcastle-upon-Tyne is a great place to live or to visit - there is so much to do. There is a very young population in Newcastle, as there are 2 big universities here and this makes it a very lively and vibrant city. The main shopping area is brilliant - every shop you could think of and each one is really big. The only store I think is missing is Debenhams, but a huge branch can be found nearby at the Metro Centre. Down on the quayside there is a lovely walk along the River Tyne. It is worth a visit to see all the bridges, especially the new one which opens like an eye when a boat needs to pass under. Just across the bridge is the Baltic Art gallery - an impressive converted flour mill. The collections here can sometimes be a bit hit and miss. Nightlife is amazing - best area is down on the quayside where there are numerous late bars and clubs and there is a Wetherspoons. ALso worth a visit is the Museum of Life - great for the kids. Only downside with Newcastle is the parking - very expensive. Best to use the Park and Ride and get the metro in.

Newcastle is a very busy city with lots of people mostly of course being students it has a very high population of them. Newcastle is known for a brilliant night out and this is so true, there are lots and lots of bars and clubs meaning you will never be short of a new place to go. Newcastle city centre gets very busy on a Friday and Saturday night there are often lots of police out and about as there can be lots of fights and arguments but you tend to find this anywhere when people have had too much to drink. There is a great shopping centre called the metro centre about 10 minutes from Newcastle it is absolutely brilliant and even though I have been there lots and lots of times I can still get lost looking for where I have parked my car. Newcastle general hospital is well known for dealing really well with heart attacks and heart operations. The other hospital is the Royal Victoria Infirmary and is a really good hospital as well.

Newcastle upon tyne is by far my favourite city. Not only has it got a great student life both for shopping and night life but the city itself is always buzzing with friendly locals and has undergone a new refurbishment by its quayside to make it definately more attractive and inviting. Its definately a great experience entering the city over the tyne bridge and seeing the Milenium bridges over the huge river tyne. The city itself is great for shopping, especially with the top brand names located down the main Northumberland street and in Eldon Square. The Metro Centre itself is only a 5 minutes train journey out of the city centre making Newcastle a definate hotspot for shopping. As a student, i feel i should also mention the amazing nightlife that the city has to offer. The hundreds of great bars and clubs means you are spoilt for choice on where to go and there is a different night each night at the clubs so you can mix and match each week. Wednesday night is a popular night for students as this is the night where all the sports teams venture out, many in fancy dress which makes the night very interesting. Newcastle university has a great reputation and lives up to all it offers. It is extremely popular with up and coming students and everyone who goes there is never disapointed.

Newcastle has a lot to offer everyone whether you are visiting or you are a local. it has alot of sights to see and places to visit.
Down on the quayside there is a lot of nightlife and is a nice walk along side the river tyne, there is also a market visits quite frequently. The river Tyne is home to alot of famous bridges, for example The Tyne bridge, The Swing bridge, The Millenium bridge, The High Level bridge, The Redheugh bridge and Scotswood bridge. Newcastle is also home to the great north run and you cant get moved in the town when it is on for spectators and competitors and many of the roads are blocked off for the run.
Newcastle has its own football team, Newcastle United and has St.James park football stadium, and quite often you see footballers enter and leaving the stadium and ''Shearer''s'' bar next to it.
Newcastle has two main hospitals, the R.V.I and Newcastle General Hospital both of which are clean and well maintained.
Newcastle is also known for ''Newcastle brown ale'' or ''Broon Ale'' as us geordies would say :)
If you are visiting Newcastle and the surrounding area''s, you wont be dissapointed with the amount its got to offer, i would recommend a trip to ''The Discovery Museum'' which is great for kids and its free admission!!! there is so much to do inside too! ''The Centre For Life'' is quite good too as there is an outdoor ice skating rink near xmas.
Overall, Newcastle has alot to offer, the town centre is heaving with good shops and theres eldon square (indoor shopping centre) which is good place to shop on a rainy day. Newcastle is easily accessible with a bus station and train station both only a few minutes walk from the town centre. There is also Newcastle airport which offers bus links to the town centre too.

Newcaslte upon Tyne is a fab place to live. I lived here for a year. There town centre is huge ad has some really great shops and cafes, bars , clubs etc. My favourite pub in newcastle has to be mushroom the trebles bar cheap drinks in a great place.
My neighbours in Newcastle were really nice and friendly and i never had a problem with them.
The metro radio arena in newcastle is great, i went to see westlife here back in 2005, this arena is huge and must seat over 10,000 people its immaculatly clean, a must see.
The universities here are well sought after and attract a wide range of students from different citys and countries. Every summer The mouth of the tyne is held it hosts various bands from around the country its a great day out ( when its sunny ).
Theres also a great museum in newcastle too called the hancock museum its a science and history museum , its busy being refurbished a the minuite and is due to re-open sometime in 2009 , theres goin to be some great changes there but its some thing we will all have to wait and see.
They have a great library which ive used many of times, its situated on 3 floors and hold over 100 computers free to the public to use, theres a great range of books and a cafe in there too. This library has just been totally knocked down and due to reopen sometime august. Ive saw some pictures and it looks amazing
At chrismas theres also the famous fenwicks window, that gets dressed with all the decorations and really moving figurines, im sure mose people have heard of it even if they dont live there. This attracts lot of people, I love it. Every year I go and see it. Its great the staff must put soo much effort into it.

Newcastle is a Fantastic city. My brother has been at Newcastle University there for three years and in that time I have been to visit him loads. The university campus is awesome and he thinks its a great Uni. In the centre of Newcastle there are loads of Pubs, Clubs and Restaurants. A lot of them are geared for students and they do some great deals (especially weekdays). If you fancy a bit of class you can always go down to the key side, its a great place to sit and watch the world go buy. I visited the Baltic Art Gallery which was great, there is also the Millennium Bridge, and every Sunday Morning there have the Outdoor Market. Its great for a stroll along the key side when the market is on they sell clothes, pictures, food and loads more. Overall its a great place to visit.

Newcastle is an amazing place. Its such a lively place to be, it seems theres always something going on. Northumberland is one of the busiest highstreets i have ever seen, with so many shops on one strecth, you wont have to go anywhere else to find the latest must haves. There is usually one promotion or another happening down northumberland street too, with people singing and dancing the atmosphere is viberant. The university also plays a huge contribution towards the cities lively nightlife. With thousands of students flocking to the city each year, i dont blame them, as Newcastle is voted one of the cheapest places for students to live. As well as the lively city centre, Newcastle also has a Leazes Park which is perfect during the summer months, St James Park which is has one of the best atmospheres i have ever experienced which is suprising because i never really enjoyed watching football in a stadium until i came here and also the quaydise which is ideal for eating and shopping. There is far too much to see and do, but id reccomend it to anyone.
