The town centre is mostly Victorian and early 20th century, however a few much older buildings survive, along with some more modern developmentsRugby town centre includes numerous restaurants of various kinds, many pubs, and a nightclub. In 2002, Brownsover Fish Bar on Hollowell Way, Brownsover, was named as the best seller of Fish and Chips in the country. The town centre is noted for its large number of pubs; in the 1960s it was recorded as having the second-highest number of pubs per square mile in England.[9] The main shopping area in Rugby is in the streets around the Clock Tower, two of which - High Street and Sheep Street - are pedestrianised. The town centre has an indoor shopping centre called The Clock Towers which opened in 1980. A street market is held in the town centre several days a week.some really cool places to go and vist when in rugby are the Rugby School Museum, which has audio-visual displays about the history of Rugby School and of the town. The combined art gallery and museum. The art gallery contains a nationally-recognised collection of contemporary art. The museum contains, amongst other things, Roman artefacts dug up from the nearby Roman settlement of Tripontium. The Rugby Football Museum, where traditional rugby balls are.

I have lived in Rugby all of my 25 years. It is not a big town but it has a lot to offer. It has some brilliant schools and nurseries. It has a fair sized shopping centre with plenty of chain stores to choose from. The parking lets the town down a bit but with the new Asda build underway this should bring more parking to the town. The whole town seems to be having a face lift at the moment, including having a new college built just outside the town. This will bring a lot more people to the area. There has also been a major refit of the train station so visitors travelling by train will have somewhere nice to begin their visit to the town. There is the beautiful Rugby School to admire, as well as a Museum and Art Gallery at the Library. Also und rthe Rugby walk, which is Plaques on the ground in a trail around Rugby with Famous Rugby players names on. The town also has recently aquired some new information points in the town which are computerised help points.
The park in the town is a popular place to spend time and once the work is complete it will be even more spectacular. And the biggest benefit to Rugby is that it is so central to everything that no where is particularly far away.

Rugby is where I live so it is the main place that I use for shopping etc mainly for the convenience factor. It has a reasonable sized shopping centre, but the majority of the shops are very small and there are only a few of the major players such as Next, Top Shop, New Look, but again - very small branches. There are numerous pubs and restaurants in various sizes and styles but no major nightlife factor due to the lack of University/College facilities locally. There are 2 retail parks just outside Rugby which have some of the bigger superstores such as Homebase, Dreams Comet, Curries etc. Transport is good from Rugby due to its central location. It is a good place to live for people who have to commute due to the proximity of the M6, M1 and the direct trains to London, Birmingham and Coventry.
One good thing about Rugby is the history behind it. Rugby boasts Rugby School, Rugby Cement and of course the game of Rugby. Rugby also has some famous people from it such as William Webb Ellis, Rupert Brooke and Thomas Hughes. There are still some beautiful old buildings around the town that have not lost their character. It is also surrounded by some very elegant and quaint little villages so it is generally an ok place to live. It is not a great place if you want big nightlife and lots of shopping.

Rugby is located in Warwickshire and is a small town located within close proximity to the M6 and so very close to Coventry and Birmingham and it also lies just outside the border of Leicestershire. The town is home to the famous Rugby School, one of the most exclusive public schools within the UK. The town itself is fairly small and only has a small shopping centre and most of the retail stores are small in particular the next and Marks and Spencer, and it lacks a lot of the main high street stores. There are a selection of restaurants and bars but the town is not a student town (University students) and so does not have very many bars/clubs. Rugby is home to a cement works and is famous for the Rugby game, so the town has a lot of history attached to it. The town has very good access also by train to London and Birmingham, London is one hour away and Birmingham is 40 minutes, this could make Rugby a good commuter town. Rugby is one of the closest towns to my house but it is not a place I would choose to shop or visit as it does not hold anything appealing. I only go to the town for convenience.

Rugby is about a ten minutes drive from where i live, so we generally go here quite abit, just for some little errands. The town centre is mainly Victorian, with the odd modern building, It is a small town which has a little shopping centre called the clock towers, which has a few shops e.g. boots, newlook, dunelm and obviously the chain fast food places like subway, so has something for everyone. It has a lot more shops on the streets around the clock tower, two of which are pedestrianised, it also has lots of little independent stores, including a cafe/gift shop called vanilla, which is my favorite. Itts probably not the best town for going out in the evenings, though it does have quite a few restaurants and bars, it even has a few clubs, Though I wouldnnt recommend it. Most of the bars do get quite busy and have a good atmosphere sometimes. Rugby is probably known, for the rugby school, which is the most expensive school in the country, and it also has a good reputation. It has a huge Tescos, just on the outskirts along with a cinema complex.
