Not a big fan of Bilston. I have spent a lot of time there over the last 4 years, visiting friends and family - it''''s rough and dirty and the shopping centre isn''''t too impressive either. Most of the shops are cheap with bad quality items for sale. Bilston market is probably the highlight of Bilston, which just says it all really. Prostitutes are on the rise and so is gun and knife crime. I don''t personally feel safe when I am walking around and very often feel the need to lock my car doors when stopping at traffic lights. However, I have to say there is usually something happening in the centre at Christmas, where they have a big Christmas tree and lights and often hold an official ''switching on the lights'' accompanied by a radio station or simlilar. And they have a bit of entertainment to go with it too, which isn''t bad. In general though, this is not a nice place to live or work.
