Crawley is a great place to live if you ike to go on holidays a lot or work at Gatwick airport as Gatwick is pretty much next to Crawley. If you dont do either of these though then crawley can seem pretty dull and noisy with the planes constantly flying overhead. Its not all bad though as Crawley does have a fantastic shopping centre- county mall. Parking at the mall is expensive but is free on a sunday which is super! The mall has plenty of shops and restaurants and at christmas they have a great grotto.
There are many industrial estates in Crawley and also a great shopping area that has a large hobby craft and Next as well as a few others. These are away from the town and have great free parking.
The train station is in the middle of town, making travelling very easy. The college is also near by so the stations location is a benfit to many students.
The nicest place in Crawley to visit is Tilgate park. This is a large nature park, housing many animals including wallabies, peacocks and sheep- a real random mix!! The parks also have a large lake that you can walk around as well as craft shops, a maze and a large outdoor play park for children.

When looking at places that are strategic for travel, Crawley should be right up there. It is located very close to London Gatwick. However, Crawley is definately in need of some redevelopment. It''s like making orange juice with half squeezed oranges. You know you might have enough to fill a glass but what a waste of orange juice. Crawley has all the things you need in a community. It just needs to tackle some of the behaviour issues that a lot of other places have. I think that really keeps Crawley from being both a place that people use (happily) for strategic travel accomodation and as a place to visit. Crawley just doesn''t sell itself either.
As for being a tourist destination, it really should take advantage of people flying in and out of London Gatwick. Crawley has a guaranteed amount of people passing by it going between London and the coast. It also has all those flyers and people picking those commuters up. The place would benefit from having a tourist attraction. Maybe if the place generated some revenue it could then turn around and use that to help regenerate and redevelop into a great place for both commuters and residents. Until something changes, it''s just a dot on a map.
They have shops, places to eat and pubs. Unfortunately, I can''t recommend them over other places nearby.

Sadly i cannot say i am a fan of this town. The archictecture is very plain generally in this town. Also in my expereince there have been some very aggressive people here. The pubs cannot often be dangerous places to be and i would definetly reccommend staying in groups in this town. aside from this the attractions include a large cinema and bowling alley
