Midhurst is a lovely, quiet town about twenty minutes from Chichester and Petersfield. There is a great atmosphere to Midhurst, with farmers markets often happening at weekends and Christmas street parties happening in the festive period. For a small town Midhurst has a great selection of bars and restaurants, ''Bloody Mary''s'' is always busy at a weekend as it has an excellent bar, and Pizza Express and Prezzo are great for evening meals with friends. The pubs in Midhurst also serve excellent food which is made using local produce. There is a good selection of shops in Midhurst, although none of the high street names you would find in Chichester. On the main high street there is two bakeries stocking a fantastic selection of baked goods and quite a few charity shops which are great for bargain hunting. Just of the high street you can find a few shops selling gifts and things for the home. In the summer Midhurst gets incredibly busy with people visiting Cowdray Castle and frequenting the many quaint coffee shops that Midhurst has to offer. As parking is free in Midhurst (a car park at both the top and bottom of the high street) the spaces can fill up very early on in the day, so if wanting visit Midhurst it is probably best to get there early. One thing to note is that very few shops open in Midhurst on a Sunday so Chichester is probably a better bet if wanting to do something then.

Midhurst is a place for people who like the gentle pace of the countyside without losing the independence to go into the livelier and busier cities, chichester is only about 30 minutes drive away and petersfield is very close by. There are not many shops in midhurst but there is some on west street and in the square, these can be quite pricey as can the houses. Midhurst has 2 international hotels the spread eagle and the angel, i have stayed in the spread eagle and it is a lovely hotel very home from home type, staff are very friendly and will form conversations with you. I for one love the countryside in midhurst is is well kept and lovely for a stroll.
