Shoreham By Sea is a lovely sea side town situated south of the downs and has the river adur running alongside it which is a home to many houseboats. Shoreham has a harbour as well as a lovely long beach. On Shoreham beach is the old fort, its a bit of a reck but great for any little explorers to have a walk about.
During the summer the beach is home to the beach dreams festival, a great festival of music and dance. There is also the Adur festival shoreham is a part of which includes things such as art displays, plays, workshops and markets. Its one of the highlights of the year.
Shoreham Airport offers flying lessons and short pleasure flights. It is holds an airshow every year and people travel from afar to see the annual weekend show.
There are many other historic places in shoreham to visit other than the airport, including the marlipins museum, the harbour and locks, the fort and shoreham college.
The high street has many different shops, bars and cafes. As well as the normal small town shops such as woolworths, we also have quirky shops such as just bananas for gifts and jewellry or rock lobster, a great little fashion boutique. There is a footbridge that connects the main town to shoreham beach and walking across it gives you a great view of the town and the river.
There is also a large shopping centre called the holmbush centre that has mcdonalds, m&s and tesco which is great as you can get everything you need under one roof.
