West Yorkshire is a beautiful county. The Yorkshire dales are just on the border and there are many big and small towns, and also some small villages. Leeds is the biggest and is great for shopping or going out or going to University, there are 3! Huddersfield is a typical ex mining town and also has a good University. The countryside is beautiful and can be easily reached by bus, train or car. Housing is quite affordable in some areas, although picturesque villages like Ilkley are fast becoming the most expensive places to buy in the UK! I love West Yorkshire and its been a great place to go to University as it has that great balance of city life and countryside. There are loads of places to stay including hundreds of bed and breakfasts and also more commercial hotels like travel inn which feature prominetly in the Leeds skyline. In Leeds there are also a lot of museums and galleries if you are interested in history or any kind of art exhibitions. In west yorkshire there are good transport links to the rest of the country, including a direct train to London from Leeds that only takes 2 1/2 hours.

West Yorkshire in my opinion is the best county in England, i may be biased in saying so as i have lived here for some time. Nevertheless west yorkshire is crammed full of beautiful small towns, and some of the most unique quiet villages, making it a peaceful place to set up home. The most popular areas in West Yorkshire are Leeds, Wakefield and Huddesfield. I believe the reason for this is because of the nightlife that is available in each area and the facilities for shopping and services. Leeds has some great facilities especially for those with families or are planning on going to University. Leeds is home to two of the most popular universities in Britain, Leeds Univeristy and Leeds Met University, and they attract thousands of students between them each year. As stated, the county is also great for those who enjoy the countyside. The chevin which is located in Otley is a wonderful place to take a walk, Ilkley moor is also a popular place to talk a country walk as are the yorkshire dales. The transport is also a reliable service too, with Leeds/Bradford airport and Leeds train station is easy to come to and from areas throughout west yorkshire.

Yorkshire, yorkshire, yorkshire! As you can tell im a yorkshire lad, i love it, probably the best place to live in the Uk, by far. There is so much to see and do, you''ll love it. Leeds is probably the main attraction with many flocking to the city centre to study at one of the three universities. Its also popular with potential business tycoons, and is supposed to be undergoing one of the most expensive business developments around. There are numerous highstreet shops, including the students favourites primark and topshop, specialists shops, hairdressers, doctors, dentists, restaurents, pubs, bars and clubs. Not to forget its home to Leeds United! Come''on you Whites! With some fantastic picturesque town, including Otley and Ilkley which both have fantastic countryside fields, swimming pools and outdoor activities, everyone will love it.

I here ya David800!! it is the best ''.....shire'' !
Yorkshire has so much to offer for every one of all ages. The schools here are really good and Prince Henrys which is situated in Otley is in the top 10 in Yorkshire. Leeds Uni is one of the best and there are plenty of colleges dotted around for those whanting to get back into education or just not go to uni. We have Headingley cricket ground which is world famous. Leeds is fantastic for shopping and the night life is really good to and people come from miles around to have a night out here, with clubs like Ociana, Flares, Mission, Heaven and Hell the list is huge and go''s on and on. There are lots of pubs to and lovley restaraunts with as huge varity of foods to end your night out. The museums around west yorkshire are really good to this is a really educational place to bring the children, and why not give them some of that good stuff called ecersice!! that kids love so much!!
There are so many places to go walking and see the countyside, farms where you can help look after the animals such as Farmer James Farm in Esholt, this is the original Emerdale Farm. There are really good public transport connections all over West Yorkshire so getting around is not a problem, you can also purchase a Day Rider ticket for around 4 and you can travel any where in West Yorkshire all day at no extra cost.
