I found halifax quite scary, espcially walking through the streets on my own, i wouldnt go out after dark on my own. The locals were not very welcoming and quite ignorant in fact, The only good think i found was the museum which is the Eureka, My daughter loved it here and didnt want to leave, There was so much there for her to do including pretending to be a sjopkeeper, a banker and a post man. She really enjoyed her self. There was plenty of shops cafes and pubs ect but they werent my cup of tea. Halifax is quite run down and could do with cleaning up a lot aswell as the communty being more welcoming and not being ignorant.

It is located in the West Yorkshire. It is nestled between Bradford to the North and Huddersfield to the South. Halifax is really well placed being situated within fifteen minutes drive from M62 J24 and easily accessible within a half an hour drive from Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield.
This town is unique in having loads of great historic places to visit. An important part of Pennine Yorkshire, Halifax is the ideal place to create lasting memories. Some places have a unique blend of some of the best architecture in West Yorkshire well set in a backdrop of luxurious green hills, and works its own charm. An important part of Pennine Yorkshire, Halifax is the ideal place to create lasting memories.
At the centre of attaction is the magnificent Town Hall designed by Sir Charles Barry still well maintained with its elegant Victorian features.Another added feature is Halifax Borough market which is located at the centre of town and is worth visiting.
If anyone loves combining lesiure time out in the countryside with history then Shibden Park is the place to go., with its ever changing seasonal view, both out in the park and in the gardens of Shibden Hall. Shibden Hall is a splendid half-wooden manor house based in the grounds of Shibden Park, which is a gem in itself as Halifax''''s Historic Home and has both a Folk Museum and Barn that give a fascinating insight into a world where craftsmen worked withwood and iron. Also there is the piece hall as well(not sure if it was misspelt for peace hall thoughhlol)

The only good thing about Halifax is Eureka - the museum for children. This is one of the best places I have been to with my little boys - there is so much here for them to do from playing at being a banker, post man or shopkeeper. They can change the wheels on the little cars they have and pretend to put petrol in, and there is a full size house with rooms in which are all interactive - such as toilets they can flush, bath with buttons on to make the bubbles start, kitchen with play food and pretend ovens etc. There is so much to do here a day just isn''t enough!
But apart from Eureka I didn''t like the centre of Halifax at all - it is a bit run down and the people are not very friendly at all, I have heard that it is a good night out but I wouldn''t like to go there after dark, it''s bad enough during the day!

Halifax has good transport links, the buses and trains are regular and reliable and thit has good road links. Halifax has many shops and the strange layout makes the town look more bigger. The town is always busy and i find it filled with rude people, many times i have been pushing my daughter in her pram or walking my son and people just barge into them without saying sorry, this really annoys me! At night it has a really good night life, there are many clubs, pubs and bars to visit all of which have a wide range of music.

I love a good night out as the next person and halifax is certainly that, you are guaranteed to have a night full of dancing, fun and the odd games. The train station is close by and there are always taxis floating about so yu dont have far to walk, defiantely a good thing if you have had a few too many beers. Halifax is not just a good night, there is plenty to do through the day but i must admit its not the cleanist of places and the whole town layout is a little odd and confusing. Once you know your way around then its all fine but if it is your first time visiting halifax you are bound to ask someone for what you are searching for. Halifax is busy through the day and night.

I always liked Halifax. Its not as big or as busy as Leeds or Bradford, so everything is not as rushed there. Its not as clean, or as ''presentable'' in fact, it could do with a bit of a shake up to sort it out and make it look a lot better than it does.
Halifax has its own bus and train stations, so its easy to reach if you dont have a car.
There is a good few shops in Halifax for you to browse through and shop, although it shops pale in comparison to some of its neighbouring towns.
The locals are very supportive of the local football team, Halifax Town. The stadium is a good looking stadium, and on match days it gets very busy.
If its family fun your looking for, theres the Eureka! museum, a museum that teaches kids the sciences of life, with lots of fun, hands on experiments and experiances to enjoy and do.
Halifax is developing a buzzing night life which keeps on improving, so if its a night on the town you want there is plety to be found here.
All in all, Halifax is not a bad town, it could certainly do with some improving cosmetically, and more done to keep the streets clean, but if you look past that its all good!

I personally always found halifax to be a bit of a down and out dive of a place, especially the centre. its far from being the cleanest, tidiest of place has a somewhat less than welcoming feel to it and the lay-out is somewhat confusing. Saying this a good night out can definately be had there. there are also numerous little pubs with an old traditional feel to them.
Compared to the neighbouring town of Huddersfield, Halifax definately leaves a lot to be desired
