Leeds is a great city. Some suburbs need more work doing to them by the council and I think they tend to get ignored. The city centre is very developed and there is always something to do day or night. Loads of bars, resturants, clubs, sports. There are also 1000s of students! 3 Universities. Its a great place to live when your young, but I will be moving when I finish uni as its a very University majority city.
I've only lived in Leeds for a year, as i've only just started university there. But of what i have seen so far it is a great city! It has so much to offer, the nightlife is amazing (just as good as people make it out to be) and the shopping is equally as good. You could never be bored in Leeds, in the summer there's plenty of parks to have picnics and chill out and in the winter there are ice rinks and cinemas to keep you entertained!
Ive lived near Leeds for years, so I am very fond of the city. The nightlife is amazing, with so many nightclubs and bars to choose from, each playing a variety of music there is something for everyone. Its a very busy city, which attracts thousands of students each year. Its also a good place to shop with several shopping centres its a great place to have a spending spree. As well as the nightlife and the shopping facilities, Leeds hosts many musical, comedy events, and is home to one of the most summer festivals around, Leeds Festival. There is so much to do, if you like art id recommend looking around Leeds Art Gallery, it holds some of the most unique art i have ever seen. It is a large city, making it very easy to get lost if you have never been before, however the people of Leeds are so friendly, if this does happen, the locals are more than happy to give outsiders a point in the right direction.
I have visited Leeds many times as my brother and several of my friends all go to university there. I love the city, it is great for shopping, with so many shops to choose from for every budget, from primark for those on a budget to Harvey Nics for those who like to splash the cash. The night life in Leeds is also great, there are so many clubs and bars to chose from to suit all music tastes. My personal favorite is the Cockpit, as I love my indie and rock music and I have yet to have a bad night there. Leeds is a very student friendly city and I always have a great time whenever I go.
I love Leeds. I dont know anybody that doesnt. Leeds is huge and more than ideal for those who love to shop. With hundreds of shops to choose from, Leeds provides hours of entertainment for all. There are clothing shops, food shops, jewellery shops, phones shops and many other shops and services to choose from. The nightlife is also popular with many, there are hundreds of pubs, clubs and bars to choose from, and with something for everyone its the perfect place to enjoy a drink and a dance. With nightclubs such as Oceana, Gatecrasher and Mission the weekends are often over populated creating a viberant, and hectic atmosphere. As many have mentioned the majority of people in Leeds are students, due to the great facilities the universities have to offer. All in all i have no faults with Leeds, its awsome.
I have lived in Leeds for twenty years now, and I have found that there is little that Leeds lacks. The city centre has an excellent range of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs, centred on the Light, which opened in 2001. As well as containing shops, restaurants and a hotel, the Light also houses the city centre''s cinema. The city is also home to the Royal Armouries, which opened in 1996, and houses the UK''s national collection of arms and armour. Slightly outside the city centre, Headingley is a student-dominated area, which houses numerous bars and pubs, chief among them the Box and the pubs of the so-called ''Headingley Mile''. Leeds is home to many sporting venues and teams, including Yorkshire County Cricket Club, the Leeds Rhinos, Leeds United and Leeds Carnegie (rugby union). Outside the city centre Leeds is home to several historic sights, such as Kirkstall Abbey and Harewood House, and since 1999 has been the location for the annual Leeds Festival.
I lived in Leeds until I was 17, and rate it very highly as a city. Had I not grown up there, I would have definitely applied to it as one of my university choices, as it''s a fantastic, vibrant city with lots of nightlife, and even more importantly, lots of great shops! It''s one of the biggest cities in the country (I think it claims to be the third biggest after London and Birmingham) and as such there''s always plenty of entertainment. In the large, and recently revamped main shopping streets, all the major high street shops are represented, and there are some brilliant arcades in and around the Victoria quarter, with more specialised boutiques, and plenty of designer shops. And if it''s designer shops you''re after, there''s an absolutely huge Harvey Nichols in the centre of town.
Although it''s not the most touristy of cities (try the nearby York, if you''re after beautiful architecture and sightseeing) there are some fairly good museums. The Royal Armouries is excellent, and well worth a visit - especially if you''ve got sons, as I''ve never met boy who grew up in the city and wasn''t a little fascinated by all the old weapons and armour and the fantastic displays of archery and jousting. For a more sedate day out, the art gallery is an attractive prospect, and the nearby Millennium Square often hosts big outdoor events, for example an ice rink in the winter, continental markets throughout the year, and a massive outdoor tv screen that''s put out for things like world cup football matches.

Leeds is one of the most popular university towns. It has become over the last few years the uni to be at. The halls are pretty good but the areas they are in a very dodgy. So much so in fact that there are great big spiked fences around most of them with access restricted to key card holders only.
The student scene is very big in Leeds as is the music scene though they both really seem to go hand in hand. Wax on started in Leeds and it is now a really popular dance night. There are some great little bars and clubs in Leeds but there are also a lot of super clubs and chain places.
There are excellent museums and exhibitions and everything is very cheap. Drinks, food and sunbeds are all dirt cheap. They have some great shops including Vivienne Westwood and a huge range of high street places. The best vintage shop is Blue Rinse.

WOOP WOOP!! Leeds is fantastic from the food to the shopping to the night life!!! lets start with food--- becsuse of the culteral mix of people in Leeds you can buy anything here, curried goat fom a shop in the Leeds market, to italian, to fast food to deli sandwich shops. The prices are very competative here and in some cases cheap mainly due to the large student population. The clothes shops are brilliant you have everthing from high end (Harvry Nicols) to low end (Primark) prices. And all the in the middle high street shops to,including a few spacialist clothing shops like Raw in the Corn Exchange which is a skater shop , selling Vans and Etnies. Leeds has a few shopping Malls to which means what ever the weather you can still shop!!
The Leeds night life is amazing and has been known for been the best in the UK, There is a large gay community in Leeds which is reflected by the ammount of gay bar''s, pub''s and night clubs, of which are some of the best nights out i have ever had at Queens Court, Fiber, Bridge, Mission (on a Thursday). There are also lots and lots of straight night clubs and bars Oceana, Yates, Sports Bar, Tiger Tiger, Fudge to name a few. There is also a huge regenaration project going on near the cannal where high end property has been built. Which has brought in alot of business types.

Well i couldnt agree more with most of the people that have already reviewed Leeds. Its a great city to live in. There are so many pubs, bars and clubs for those who like to party hard. A range of different cuisine restaurents, including wokmania, a chinese all you can eat restaurent. As for shopping, i coulnt think of a better place to go to get the latest Gok Wan thumbs up style of clothing, as well as a huge primark which is a student heaven if you ask me. The transport is unbelievable, as it has a reasonable sized bus and coach station, as well as a train station. Not to mention the various galleries and music venues, its definately a place id recomend visiting.
Leeds is a fabulous North-West town, especially for the shops, with little unique boutiques around every corner. I went shopping in Leeds to find a dress for my prom and i was completely stuck for choice! Not to mention all the usual high street shops such as harvey nics, debanhams, Topshop, River Island and a huge Primark (definately a plus for the 1000''s of students). Leeds is always clean and you definately feel a sense of security when walking through the town day or night. Travel is excellent with trains and buses running at all times. A great mix of urban and country life at leeds as it is inside Yorkshire. A 10 out of 10 city for me, i would definately recomend a visit.
Leeds is a great place to visit for many reasons, or even live. Firstly it houses trhee universities so the students come in there thousands to leeds. Because of this the number of pubs, bars and clubs are huge to cater for these party animals, my little brother currently attends leeds uni and says hes having the time of his life and has met many people. When i went shopping here i was stuck for choice with the enormous amount of incredible shops. It seems as if they all have purposely located in one place to make it easier for you! The transport system in leeds is very successful and reliable with trains and busses running at all times of the day taking you wherever you need to go. There are many things to do in leeds, and one of the sporting icons is Elland Road home of Leeds Utd, although they have very recently slumped to the lower divisions because of financial issues they are still famous by being in europe and the premier league in the past and having an excellent youth system bringing many stars through the ranks.

Leeds is a great city to live, work or visit. It''s quite big and has great communications (transport systems). The cost of living is less than some of the other places in the UK and housing is cheaper too (this generally comes with cities in the North of England). Being situated in Yorkshire just makes Leeds that bit better than other cities and inside the city its great University can be found. Being quite a large place, Leeds also has some great places to shop in.

Leeds was my second choice for university and I would have been pretty happy going here. It''s a little smaller than the likes of Manchester but is pretty nice and has so much going on music wise. The centres pretty and not too big to feel lost in like london. I have mainly been to leeds for nights out the main one I recommend is Subdub at the west indian centre. This is a great dub, dubstep night which is probably grimier and unlike most dub nights you will go to. Leeds is pretty cheap to eat and drink at which helps the pubs very much cater for students.
