I have family and friends that live in Menston so i visit here as much as possible. Menston is situated within the picturesque valley of the River Wharfe and is near enough in the middle of Bradford and leeds. This is a good thing as Menston doesnt have many shops what so ever so if you do live here and are wanting a day of retail therapy then you can catch the train, bus or drive to either Bradford or Leeds, which both have good shopping centres. The main A65 links Menston to Leeds and Ilkley by road and runs along the village. Menston is such a friendly place, the people here seem very nice and friendly. All in all Menston is well presented, its a clean place. Alot of people come here on sunny days and bring there family to the parks which has plenty of grass to play games on, also people just come here for the nice views and walks.

Although Menston is really small with little to do I find it a really nice place to be. There are a few shops including a post office, golf shop, hairdressers and pubs but apart from that there isnnt much! But therees something about it which I really love, and if I could choose any where to live near Otley (where I live now) I would choose Menston.
For starters it has a train station, something which Otley definitely lacks! It means you can get to Leeds or Bradford in about 20minutes, much quicker and easier than driving. Menston also has a really great school St. Maryys, which has a couple of famous ex-students! Including the guy that plays Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films and Kaiser Chiefs! Not bad for a town with only about 3 shops in it hehe.
Menston also has a nice park with plenty of room for kids to play football and couple of tennis courts. The town is a great place to start walk in, there are plenty of routes and stacks of countryside surrounding it. And if youure feeling a little tired after all that walking you an stop in for a drink at the Fox and Hound, a popular and lively pub with a huge kids play area that I spent many a birthday party at when I was little! Menston is also host to a branch Harry Ramsdens, world famous fish and chip shop, yummy!
Overall a really quiet and pleasant town thatts well worth a visit even if itts just to get some fish and chips! And whatts more, theyyve just built a load of new flats in the town so for anyone looking to move in the area this would be a perfect place to look!
