Normanton is a very different place to what it was at the turn of the last century. the rail network are now long gone and leave little if any clue to their ever being there. The original station is gone, offering few clues to their original purpose and the once lucrative brickworks, with their massive chimneys, now lay in ruins. Normanton is a greater suburb of leeds and it has cheap housing with good transport links. There is a railway station so you can visit places quickly like Leeds, Castleford, Wakefield and Sheffield Meadowhall Interchange and also there is motorways such as m62 and m1. People call Normanton a ''chavstown'' purely because there is young children using vile language, fighting and causing criminal damage.
