Wetherby is one of those ideal locations. It is safe, clean and just an all around healthy place. The houses can be out of this world.
The A1 runs along side of Wetherby and that makes it an excellent place for traveling in any direction. There are other larger places near to it for additional shopping and more light life such as York, Harrogate and Leeds.
Great place for a pub crawl if you are into that sort of stuff. There are some really classy places here and people are pretty friendly.
If shopping is your thing, you will find interesting over trendy here. There are enough places to stop and have a cup of tea to keep you going as well.
If walking is your thing then you have plenty of places to go. I prefer pulling up and parking near the river and having a stroll along the banks myself. Provided the weather is ok.
Transportation is good here. Obviously with the A1 and harrogate road near, a car is an easy bet. Buses are great here and you can go pretty much in any direction from Wetherby. I have not travelled here by train so I can''t really comment on the service.
Wetherby is located exactly 198 miles from both Edinburgh and London and you can reach Leeds, Harrogate and York within 20 minutes.
Wetherby is without a doubt a location that many people would love to live in or at least retire to later in life. It has a quality about it that you have to see for yourself.

Wetherby is a market town in the City of Leeds. It stands on the River Wharfe, and has been for centuries a crossing place and staging post on the Great North Road between London and Edinborough.
Wetherby is well known for its youth offenders institute, opposite is the york road racecourse. Wetherby has many shops and it is a good day for a little retail therapy. It has good public transort links such as bus and rail but the only closest airport is leeds/bradford.
