It does not have a good name for its self however things are only getting better.
We have had loads of new house's and flat's built which can only add value to Swindon and building the house's keep people in jobs.
Has a choiice of secomndry and Primary schools which are all turning accademic!
It has an ok night life at the weekends im there most weeks so dont find it very interesting that much!
We have a wide range of shops from clothes to animal stores. Plenty of places to eat out.
Over all Swindon is a great place to live!

Swindon is an underrated place. I had a friend of mine move there for affordable housing years and years ago. He took advantage of selling a small place in London for a large place in Swindon. All I ever heard from people was how bad Swindon was. After visiting him pretty regularly, I started to see a different picture. It changed even more so when I stayed there for a month.
The night life there has a pulse. Plenty of places to go to before you hit a club. It''s like you have stages to a night out there. It''s really fun. It makes a good night last longer like that. There are also plenty of places to eat too. All sorts of food is available.
There are all sorts of shopping there. If you want mall shopping, you can have that. If you want discount, try the outlet village. I think it is great. You can just have a stroll or you can find something specific there. They have a nice Starbucks there too. It has a playground next to it and it is fun to people watch there on a weekend.
Swindon is a good base to travel around the UK. You can get to Oxford pretty quickly and London by train from here is pretty easy. Bristol, Bath and the rest of the South West are not far from here as well.
Swindon has been an up and coming place for a while now. I''d recommend it for both a night out and as a place to live.

Swindon is a fairly large town in Wiltshire in the South of England. It is half way between London and Cardiff and the M4 motorway passes right through it. Despite being a town, Swindon has all the amenities of a City, with plenty of places to go and things to do. There are a variety of shopping centres, from Greenbridge to the Brunel Shopping Centre, as well as the Designer Outlet Village which is good for shopping at discount prices. The Centre of Town has plenty of bars and clubs and makes for a good night out. Big clubs such as the Walkabout attract a huge number of people on weekend nights. Swindon is also within range of plenty of tourist attractions in the Salisbury Plains of Wiltshire, such as Stonehenge and Avebury which make great days out which are only a short journey from the town. One problem with the town is that it is fairly expensive to buy things like drinks at the pub, which is especially a problem for me as Im a student! The town is also famous for its Magic Roundabout! Which is a bit scary if you dont come from the town but is actually quite easy to drive over!
