I lived in Warminster for a year about 4 years back. It's not a bad town but theres not a lot going for it. It is a military town so there are squaddies everywhere and the nights can be a bit lairy sometimes. There are lots of pound shops and a Greggs. Theres quite a nice park in the centre with a big lake wich you used to be able to row on but cant anymore unfortunately. Longleat safari park is only 2 miles up the road from Warminster so that can only be a positive.

warminster is of a medium size it has quite a lot of shops there is woolworths, boots, m and co, along with some independent shops from a card shop to a bike shop. There is a fair size morrisons which also has a petrol forecourt, i think it might be introducing pay at the pumps or something as when my husband went to put petrol in a voice came over to press the button! There is also a retail park which has an argos, lidl or aldi can''t remember which one and a focus. this is located near the railway station. we utilised the railway links and went to various places, the station was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful in getting us the cheapest tickets. warminster has a nice park which has boats, putting. i was impressed as they had a good playpark for the children but what impressed me was that they had disabled swings i have never seen these before! Warminster has a lot of houses and tucked away in one of the estates is a tesco express. Warminster is also a good base for Longleat.

Warminster is a lovely town with plenty of places to eat and a nice park. Its not a big town but has a busy but calm feel to it. You feel like you are in the town but in the country at the same time.

I would definitely rate Warminster as one of the nicest towns i''ve lived in (of which there are quite a few!). It has a really nice feel to it, with a lot of lovely little tea rooms dotted around in the side streets. The town centre is of a reasonable size and is a nice place to spend time. There is a large army presence in the town and the surrounding area but this doesn''t detract from it in any way. The town is steeped in religious history which is no doubt of interest to some people, and apparantly some people claimed UFO sightings in the 60''s so if thats your kind of thing then there you go

Warminster is a nice town in rural Wiltshire, it combines the feeling of a small town with a medium population much like the idea you get of Sandford from Hot Fuzz. It has most things you want, the everyday shops as well as restaurants (in moderation) and take aways. Strangely enough there are no Macdonalds, Burger Kings or KFCs however they make up for this with the newly built Subway.
The town is dotted with Butchers, Bakers and charity shops but boasts no cinema or Tesco''s however it does contain a Morrisons and Iceland. The park is nice and has a small lake with paddling boats and ducks, situated within the park are tennis courts and a small ice cream vendor.
Overall Warminster is a nice town without much going on.
