doncaster has a good range of shops for a town its size, and attracts thousands every year for the races at Donacster Racecourse and it''s showpiece event - the St. Ledger. There''s an excellent facility called The Dome which has a swimming pool, ice rink and hold concerts and other events. The new stadium called the Keepmoat hosts football, rugby league and concerts and is next to the Lakeside shopping complex. It''s on the East Coast Main Line train line to London, and has regular buses and trains to nearby cities and towns.

There is a vast choice of parks, woodlands, wetlands and nature reserves that abound in the 226 square miles that is the borough of Doncaster. If you''re into nature and parks then the Austerfield Field Centre is a great place to come to discover both the built and natural environment. Aslo Cusworth Hall, Museum and Park are a great place to visit.
Dominating the Doncaster skyline, the Minster (St George) is one of the town''s most architecturally important buildings and a remarkable building in the tradition of the great Minsters of Yorkshire. It is the most cathedral like of Scottts parish churches, crowned by a magnificent 170ft tall bell tower and is reputed to be one of the best showcases of Gothic architecture in the country.
Shopping in Doncaster is really good, with top brands and over 90 great stores, many of which are open late on Thursdays.
Doncaster Market is open each Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and features over 600 stalls serving the freshest meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. The market is well worth a visit with the Corn Exchange specialising in craft and gifts and the newly refurbished Wool Market offers a wide choice of textiles, haberdashery, cosmetics and household goods. Also look out for the Farmer''s Market, which takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, the traditional bargains from the festive Christmas market and regular visits from the travelling Continental market.
There are loads of restaurants, cafes and bars to suit everyone.

Doncaster is becoming an ever growing popular town, which can be shown by the recent building of an airport on the outskirts of the town. It has a large town centre with a large shopping complex which has a large number of shops and connects onto the train station in the town centre. Outside the town centre is the yorkshire outlet retail park which has a selection of factory priced shops such as next and clarks where you can get items up to half the price of high street stores. Close by is also Doncaster dome, which is a great popular day out for both locals and tourists, with its large swimming pool and ice skating rink, as well as themed nights, tribute acts and discos. Also there is the Doncaster races which is very popular and a great day our, as well as Doncaster Rovers football team in their lovely new stadium.

Doncaster is a very up and coming town , with the new racecourse attracting a lot more people then ever before .
The new keepmoat stadium as well as hosting football matches it hosts big concerts, with people like Sir Elton John . THe new shopping centre has all of the normal shops that you would expect in a city of this size as well as lots of small independant retailers.
The great night life, with lots of pubs near each other especially in the town centre where on a weekend you will always find lots of fun loving people having a drink .
The new airport has also brought new life into Doncaster with flights out to spain and many other routes
The Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery is a fantastic musuem that isworth a visit if you enjoy the more cultural side of places.
The Markham Grange Steam Museum is stunning the engines here are a sight to behold .
The people of Doncaster are friendly to the extreme and in my experience will often put visitors before themselves a truly wonderful place .

Doncaster in itself is a great town. I seem to always be attracted to Doncaster for most of my shopping, and the fact that they have made the shopping centre so much bigger is a bonus. They have lots more great shops here now, and they are still building in the town. Just out of the town centre is doncaster dome, which has swimming, ice skating which have discos and theme nights, i spent a lot of my time here when i was younger, you meet so many different people because people travel to go here. they also have different activities like a climbing wall etc and fitness suites and spas. everything you need for a great day out. Just across the road from the dome is a big asda, i think this is one of the best asdas in the area as they seem to have more choice in the george clothing range. There is also a pub with a brewsters for the kids, and a cinema for everyone. Just 5 minutes down the road from there and you come to yorkshire outlet, which is great value for money shopping, i have been here many times, and there is rides for the kids and coffee bars for us mums to make shopping hassle free. All in all you cant go wrong in Doncaster there is so much choice in what to do or places to shop.
