Bingham is kind of an overspill place for those who work in Nottingham. It has good comuter links with the city via bus or even train, tho these do not run as often. It is however a busy town in its own right, with several business parks. It is sited on the fosse way so has great road links to and from. Being so central it is also easy to get to some of the other interesting towns around Nottingham, like Melton Mowbray (the home of the pork pie) and Grantham (the birthplace of Margeret Thatcher)
It is a bustling place with a farmers market every week which is very popular. When we went there we got the most amazing home baked cakes from one of the stalls. The town also has a leisure centre for those of us who eat too many of the said cakes! The swimming pool is a good size and the facilities are not expensive to use. The area around Bingham is mostly flat, as is the whole of Nottinghamshire really! There are many country walks which start in the centre of Bingham and the most popular is the Linear Path which follows the line of an old railway track and a nature trail too so is great to do in the summer.
Bingham isnnt the most interesting of places, it is a working busy town, but they have found remains of saxon and roman settlements around the area which hints of a long history.
