i often go to mansfield with my dad.i love mansfield for the markets. theres plaenty of stalls with some bargains to be had!!! theres are plenty of nice parks in mansfield, which i can never seem to getmy dauhter off lol. one thing that i dont like about mansfield is that theres so many rude people. iv often stopped people to ask for the time and they blatentley heard me and carried on walking. the houses in mansfield are quiet nice. public transport is ok , buses run on time.

Only been to Mansfield a few times but it''s nothing to write home about really. It''s very run down and the people aren''t all that friendly. It hasn''t got much in the way of shops but it''s a pop in if I need something kind of place. You wouldn''t miss too much by not coming here!!

I have drove through mansfield a couple of times and I think it looks very run down. The buildings and streets look tierd and the people look very rushed and gloomy. the atmopshere is not very nice and you feel like you just wanna get out. I know somebody who did live in mansfield and it does seem to have all ur amenties. They ahve a great market which serves your fresh veg and fruit every day and they have lots of shops but the overall atmopshere of the place isnt nice so it would put me off going again.

I''ve been up here quite a few times as my friend lives up here in a one bedroom flat, which is in a pretty grungy block of flats but is quite nice inside and is near the centre of mansfield, its not as cheap as you think it should be though and I generally get the impression that house prices and rent is high for what you get, but then with the recession at the moment thing may have changed. This is a bit of a grotty city and the people can sometimes look a bit glum but at night the atmosphere completely changes and the few places I''ve been out here I''ve really enjoyed, they''ve got some really good clubs, maybe not if you''re a bit snobby and clubs being too commercial but if you just like a fun night out in a classy looking clean club, with some songs you know, a good dj, and usually some live dancers and some live music then this place is for you. One thing bad about the nightlife here though is the random fights that break out! These group of men had arrived together, who stood not talking, then one just picks one up and throws him at our table! This happened about three times in all the venues (not the throwing a man at us bit, that would be odd). There are some good shops aswell and a slighty run down but does the job type cinema, theres also a theatre with some fame type productions held regularly. It rains quite alot.

Mansfield in Nottinghamshire is a market town with a large market square with all of your typical shops. I find Mansfield is a fairly dark and gloomy place with a negative atmosphere with dark oppressive concrete buildings and plenty of miserably looking people in a rush to get on with their daily business. There are however many shopping areas and great shops and several retail parks which provide facilities such as Mansfield Odeon cinema, The JJB sport Gym and Swimming pool etc. Parking is rarely difficult but the traffic can get bad from time to time so you are best off avoiding rush hour. All in all, a fairly average place with a negative atmosphere but has some shopping facilities you cannot find anywhere else in the immediate area. 6/10

Mansfield is a large colliery town located in nottinghamshire. The hub of the town is a the large market square in the centre where frequent markets are held. The town has all the shops you would need located around the centre so it is pretty good for shopping. However the architecture of a lot of the buildings is poor, with a lot of run down terraced houses and concrety buildings. Also the people in general are not overly friendly from my experiences in the town. In terms of things to do in the town there is a good, large odean cinema which I normally go to to watch films located out of the centre. There is also a large leisure centre called water meadows which is very good and has quite a few pools and slides aswell as a wave machine. There is the palace theatre which is good if you want to see shows. You can also visit sherwood forest which is nearby. Parking in town is normally not a problem although traffic in the centre of town is pretty bad however this may have improved with the construction of a new bypass around the town. mansfield is also easy to get to by train on the relatively new robin hood line which runs from nottingham through mansfield and then onto worksop. On the whole, Mansfield is not that great in terms of architecture or appearance and as it got voted one of the worst towns to live in in England then I cant say it is that great a place. Would not recommend coming here to shop unless you live in or near the town
