Bodacious Foods Ltd, Edinburgh on 05/06/2008

Hugely improved by the new owners, this place specialises in all organic, free range and GM free, which makes it slightly pricier than other cafes. I'd recommend their generous salads for lunch....more

Toast, EDINBURGH on 05/06/2008

Centrally located in Marchmont, great for a lazy weekend breakfast. The only real negative is that it can get busy and this means it's sometimes difficult to find a table. They do some really great seasonal specials...more

Peter's Yard, Edinburgh on 05/06/2008

A real treat... it's a swedish cafe come bakery with a huge selection of breads and cakes all made on site and all the baking can be seen though a huge plate glass window. Great surroundings and a lovely atmosphere....more

Falko Konditormeister, Edinburgh on 05/06/2008

This place has won 'stall holder of the year' just based on the farmers market they run at the weekends - it's regularly sold out and this does speak volumes. Bread prices are 500g loaf for £1.90 or a 1kg loaf for £3.90. I don'...more

Pizza Hut, EDINBURGH on 05/06/2008

Reasonable food, at great prices. They pride themselves on their fast service. Great for young kids too - family orientated deals and prices reflect this....more

Pizza Hut, EDINBURGH on 05/06/2008

If you've been to one pizza hut, you've been to them all. The decor barely changes and the menu remains consistent. They do a very quick delivery service and I would recommend their giant cookie dough....more

Fruitmarket Gallery, EDINBURGH on 05/06/2008

As a non-profit organisation this place is really commendable - it regularly has new and interesting exhibitions from some really great up and coming artists. It also holds free talks about current exhibitions. Their cafe is a good place to grab a ...more

Lidl, EDINBURGH on 05/06/2008

This place occupies the low end of the groceries market. It is incredibly cheap and there are some really great offers. The quality isn't bad considering the price - they specialise in groceries, some chilled foods and tinned foods. This store...more

Superdrug, EDINBURGH on 05/06/2008

Laid out well but this doesn't overcome the fact that this really is a lesser version of the large princes street store. Its smaller size means it doesn't carry all of the lines you'd expect - they do still do all your miniature travel t...more

LA Favorita, EDINBURGH on 16/05/2008

The Favourite of many - always busy, with a really lively family friendly vibe. Typically gourmet pizzas and pasta dishes but they do have some great house specialties and gluten free options - I was impressed.

Botanic House Hotel, EDINBURGH on 16/05/2008

Lots of beautiful green and you really don't need to be a botanist to enjoy! The general consensus (or rather the opinion of habitual critics) is that this place isn't what it used to be - all supposedly as a result of funding changes and a...more

Element, Edinburgh on 16/05/2008

Don't get me wrong, this place is centrally located - but it feels out of place on Rose St. It's got the effortless-cool feel of a George St bar/restaurant. Lovely for an evening drink - great window seats - their food is good but service t...more

The Living Room, EDINBURGH on 16/05/2008

This place competes with the very best of George St, both in terms of champagne cocktails, exquisite food and a real sense of sophistication. It does tend to get very busy in the evenings and for this reason I think that dining is preferable - you g...more

Hectors, EDINBURGH on 16/05/2008

I love their chic take on contemporary elegance, the open flame candles are a nice touch too. It's a welcome change from more student populated venues - it is in the Stockbridge area and that's obvious just from the clientele. Decor and pri...more
